Lone_Scout: In the meanwhile, I might try to work on improving how the rules are displayed, to make them more understandable. Thanks for your advices on it. :)
Great job with new thread Lone Scout. About the only thing I would add is what I mentioned in post 105. Basically whenever you do drop an update, perhaps post this as a new post to the end of the thread:-

"New Update! Before requesting a game please scroll up to make sure it hasn't been already requested and for newcomers please read the rules in post 1"

This should hopefully reduce some of the more obvious duplicates, as people tend to take note of it more when it's visible on the last page than just in the first. Just something that might ease the workload a bit.
You also have my thanks for your time that you are investing in the giveaway.

You might want to clarify rule 6 though:

#6. [...] The giveaway goes by calendar month. The beginning of each month is at midnight on the first of the month in the Central European Summer Time (CEST). Please note that daylight saving time can begin and end at different times in Europe compared to other parts of the world. A good website that explains time zones is timeanddate.com.
You literally fixed the beginning of the month to 0:00 CEST, which is always 02:00 UTC since CEST is UTC+2. UTC doesn't follow daylight saving time.

Or in other words: Daylight saving time is irrelevant since the giveaway doesn't switch between CET/CEST. Which makes the reference to changes because of daylight saving time meaningless and confusing.

I'm guessing what you actually wanted to say is: 'midnight in my time zone which is CET(UTC+1)/CEST(UTC+2), according to season'.

Then the reference to daylight saving time makes sense.

If I misunderstood you and you really intended to fix the giveaway to CEST then you have to remember that during CET requests starting from 23:00 on the last day of the month are valid.

I'd say that wording it like that would just cause confusion unnecessarily, instead of specifying which it is and then just changing a letter in the rules post when that changes (if it still will, because there were plans to scrap the change, but they were scrapped it seems). That does imply at least two mandatory edits of the OP per year (while daylight savings still exist), causing issues with a potential sticky, but far less of an issue than such unclarity I'd say.
Thank you Lone_Scout for taking on this challenge! I look forward to this new version :)

You are entitled to your opinion of course, but I think clearly stating that the time zones will change with daylight saving time beforehand is much less confusing than stealth-updating the time zone in the rules twice a year.

You're right... Damn, how I hate those stupid daylight saving times. I'll rewrite that part.
Is it possible to ask a moderator to stick rules, not the full text but just a list of the rules.

To keep a bit of the thrill, I will keep updates a bit random in both frequency and size. Thus, I won't announce when new updates are available (although any user can do that... ;) )

Posts get unstickied when they're edited, so any edit of the rules would make it unsticky, as we saw in zeo's incarnation of the giveaway. Not that it made much of a difference when it was stickied. People who won't read, won't read. And those who look but somehow miss something (*winces* like I did a bit ago...) will miss it whether it's on the first page or on all pages.

Didn't know about the edit, then they should allow the the one who create a topic to make a sticky note but they probably won't do it.

Late to participate, but I want to say thanks to the community for the active opinions here and keeping the GA tradition as result!
Especially thank you to AlexTerranova, Doc0075, finkleroy, Geralt_of_Rivia, bluethief, and our new master mind Lone_Scout of course! :)

I also want to take the opportunity to re-invite the community to join the Discord giveaway.
Yeah, I am not supporter either of giving my phone, but after a day thinking on it, I did it based on the saying "friends don't leave friends" (and I also remembered I have a secondary number almost forgotten) :)
Lots of talk and fun, honestly, it gladly surprises me people I barely have seen here posting to participate so much there. Don't believe me? Join and check for yourselves :)
Sorry to insist, but give it a chance.
What matters the most is to keep this vgamers community strong and growing, don't you think?

Lone_Scout: Welcome aboard captain! :)
I think the main reason finkleroy had to stop the GAs is the limitation of accepting 250 people max as friends and sooner or later you will face the same problem, which is very serious. Some remediation is needed.

That's not his problem, only people who can't change their privacy settings for whatever reason.

AB2012: Whilst the "official" Community ones were larger, the most fun / memorable / positive vibe giveaways were the funny themed ones created directly by the donor. Eg, if Doc ever does return to doing those, I swear McCadbury will rise again one day looking for that damned goblin... ;-)

Doc0075: Fight Club shall be returning this Christmas so I suggest you all get to training or risk getting your arses whooped by a marble or a lighthouse or whatever else you guys come up with.

I have commented in the Community Giveaway thread that I intend to launch a replacement thread when I have a bit more time (very busy at the moment). There will be some small changes to the current format but the aim will be to pull the community together more as all I see nowadays on the forum is negativity.
So I am open to (realistic) suggestions for any modifications to the giveaway that people may want.
Looking forward to it. Still have Stardew Valley Copie I need to donate.
Could someone be as kind as to clarify what "daggered" games are (in Lone_Scout's giveaway thread)? I hope I am asking in the right place.

EDIT: Oh, and one more thing: I would like to donate a key (to start by giving, not by asking), but I can't send PM to Lone_Scout due to his (her?) privacy settings. Should I ask to be added as a friend or something, or am I doing it the wrong way?

Daggered keys are usually ones that are free or were obtained during giveaways and have a short expire date. For example, currently there are 6 Venetica Gold Edition keys, because it was one of the freebies given by GOG this sale. People who already had the game claimed the free key but donated so people who missed the giveaway can still grab it.

It seems the problem is on your end. I tried to start a conversation with you and I couldn't. You must have your settings set to private.
Of course, adding Lone_Scout as a friend also works.
