We are constantly striving to figure out new ways to provide you with the smoothest and most enjoyable experience, both on GOG and GOG GALAXY. And 2023 is no different!

As a platform, we fully respect and value both your choice to play offline or online (thus offering our games DRM-free) and the money you spend on our mutual passion – gaming. Regarding the latter, we strive to help you make informed buying decisions, and just like with the OpenCritic implementation, we took another step in that direction.

We’ve introduced a new element in our store, which allows you to check the lowest price of the product from 30 days before the current discount. You can find that information just below the price tag on every discounted titles’ product page.

Like here:

Or here:

We believe that with this new addition, as well as OpenCritic reviews available on our gamecards, your shopping decisions can now be even more conscious. There’s just one last thing left to do:

Go check it out now and find a great bargain right now! We’ve got plenty of them, especially with the last days of our Spring Sale – make sure to take full advantage of its awesome 4500+ deals up to –90% and more!

MarkoH01: Well, enhanced GOG script manages to show me the lowest price since RELEASE (and not just within 30 days)
Just came here to say the same thing, but with a link to the plugin, albeit not a link to the announcement in the gog forum. To me, this "enhancment" just adds useless info, and is a prime candidate for a removal filter. Limiting it to gog is OK, but 30 days is way too short.

Also, I'd add data grid view to the list of scripts that obsoleted a highly touted new gog feature before it was even released.

edit: Ah, I see now. EU law mandated this "feature". That's why it's broken by design.

That's actually a pretty sweet feature.

mmokrzycki: Isn't it something you should have implemented 3 months ago to be in line with EU law?

lupineshadow: Maybe it took them 3 months to interpret EU law? :)
Sounds rather slow...

MarkoH01: Well, enhanced GOG script manages to show me the lowest price since RELEASE (and not just within 30 days) of the game and adds to this the lowest price of other stores as well (see attachment) to REALLY help me to make an informed decision ... so excuse me if I don't open the champagne just because you finally managed to improve something the community enhanced even better years ago. GOG is a friendly and mostly DRM-free store but when it comes to programming - be it the terrible Galaxy client or the web page GOG is unfortunately pretty low standard compared to basically everything else I know or have seen.

But for those who don't use any scripts (even though I wonder how this page is even a bit fun without adalia fundamentals, barefoot essentials and the aformentioned gog enhaced): good for you to get this addition.
To be fair tough: do any of the other stores bigger and smaller offer any of these features by default? I did a quick check on 5 of them and didnt notice any of these features. So trashing gog, for doing something 2 bigger players, with bigger pockets, and also some smaller ones arent doing yet seems unfair to me, even if it was done to comply with the law.
With that said, gog is not blame free on many topics, starting with this decaying forum, glued together with duct tape.

gog.com without scripts is more fun than Cyberpunk 2077 without mods.

I did not trash GOG in general - I simply said that their programmers suck and for me it feels like a joke when they create a newsthread just to celebrate this new addition the community created long before them, better and without getting paid at all. I am waiting for the day when they finally will be able to bring back a customizeable library which I still have thanks to adalia fundamentals .... The fact that other stores don't offer those features does not change the fact that GOGs programmers are extremely low standard.

Man, thank you very much for letting me know these scripts exists, had no idea.
Definitely gonna use at least some of them :)

One question though: how do you install Adalia Fundamentals when using Violentmonkey?
When I try installing through URL, it seems to be doing something for a while, but then it will not get installed.

This feature would be far more useful if it also displayed the all-time low price on GOG for which the game has ever been sold during any point in history.

And it would be even more useful still if it displayed the all-time low non-newsletter price, in addition to also displaying the the all-time low newsletter price too (if applicable);

...in other words, for games that have an all-time low newsletter price, then it should display both of the two different all-time low prices: (1) newsletter sale price, and also 2) non-newsletter sale price.

sergeant_citrus: This is a nice addition.
I disagree. The principle behind it is nice...to give consumers a sense of the value of the sale and the products being sold in the sale.

However, the implementation of the idea is not so nice, because "lower price from 30 days before the discount" is not providing consumers with enough information to accomplish the goal of actually informing them of the value of the sale and the products being sold in it.

But those problems could be fixed by adding more information in the ways how I've described at the start of this post.

I just tried it with Firefox and Violentmonkey and it works without any problems (click on the RAW button on the script sizte and confirm when violentmonkey wants to install it)-. Go to the "about" menu and see if you can access the adalia fundamentals settings from here.

Good addition to the site. I definitely approve.

Thanks, now I was able to install it - I thought all the Raw button will do is show you code in a raw state, therefore I didn´t even bother to click on it before.

By the way, these additions are awesome, they even fixed the persistent purple dot - I doesn´t have to copy things into console manually every time someone answer my posts, awesome sauce!

Glad you like them. I am sure you will figure out many things these scripts are helpful for. My favorite still is the option to get back the legacy covers in the library we once had on GOG and the option to sort them manually :) (see attachment)

If the purple dot should ever bother you again, try this one:
https://gist.github.com/NZDev0/b5ad52cb35435625dd814cd18de9c0f7

It adds an additional menu entry in the community dropdown which will clear all forum notifications. (Thanks to NZDev0)

Sweet, how do you turn on the legacy covers?

Tarhiel: Sweet, how do you turn on the legacy covers?
Enter Adalia Fundamentals settings (you can access those in the "About" menu ("Info" in German iirc)),
Select "Library" on the right side and then change the setting for
"Change the style of the shelf and game boxes in your library" to "Legacy".
You can also change the next line "Change the colour of the shelf background in Legacy styles" to "wood" or something else.

The-Business: Heretic mode: If a game gets discount twice in a month, the price should be permanently lowered.

Neutral mode: Good job - nothing negative for any users.
A brilliant suggestion! A 10~20% permanent discount, 50% for titles up to and older than 4 years, could increase the number of sales outside promo-events.
