I am late starting this, things have been very busy. But there are still 14 weeks to go in the NFL regular season! If you don't know what this is about, check out the first season's thread: http://www.gog.com/forum/general/giveaway_nfl_suicide_pool
While this giveaway is based around a US-centric sport, you don't need knowledge of the sport to win. It can help, but with the NFL, underdogs always end up beating a team that is much better at some point during the season. And all three winners last year were from outside the US.
This is how it works:
Each week of the NFL regular season, pick a team to win. If the team wins, you stay alive to pick again the next week. If the team loses, you are eliminated. You can only pick a team once. For example, if you pick the Raiders to win in Week 4, you cannot pick the Raiders to win in any future weeks.
Rules:
If you want to play, see the schedule below and make your pick for Week 4. The deadline for this week and all future weeks will be Sunday at 12pm Eastern Daylight Time (GMT-4). I am not including the Thursday night games to make it easier for myself. I will add the schedule each week on Tues/Wed and update the list of players who are still alive and who are eliminated. If you miss a week, you will not be eliminated but I will make the pick for you - it will be a lousy team. :)
New for this year: second chance!
With a suicide pool, once you are out, there is no longer much reason to stay interested. This year I will have a second-chance prize. If you are eliminated you will not be eligible for the main prize, but you can participate in the second chance pool. These picks can be any team, you no longer have to follow the suicide rules. Each win will give you a point. The person with the most points at the end of the regular season will win the second chance prize.
Prizes:
Suicide 1st place: $16 USD GOG game(s) of your choice
Suicide 2nd place: $10 USD GOG game of your choice
Second chance: $6 USD GOG game of your choice
The suicide prizes will be rewarded by taking the names of all players who survived the season and using random.org. If there is a tie for the second chance prize, I will either use random.org or have some kind of tie-breaker. Not sure yet. Let me know what you think.
