mrkgnao: Out of curiosity, why?
My guess is the controversy surrounding them like how they admitted to basically lying about printing limited physical releases of games to jack up the price and keep printing more despite always saying ''this game has a very limited physical release'' among other scummy tactics if not borderline illegal like last I checked them not honoring preorders and not even refunding people when the pre-orders was supposed to be sent months before and even longer in some cases .. granted the last two cases could have gotten resolved sense I last checked anyway

There is more such examples though of such stuff going on with em

Yet another game that is MORE EXPENSIVE in Mexico than it is in the USA. Why is this $5 USD more expensive here? The price is nuts on Steam, too!

Get fucked, LRG.

Do i want this games? Oh YES!!! Was waiting for a long time to show up. Will I buy them at this price? HELL NO!!! Will need something a lot more substantial then 15% off.

Also what is wrong with this requirements?

Minimum system requirements:
System:
Windows 10 (64-bit OS required)
Processor:
Intel(R) Core 2 Duo E7500
Memory:
4 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 or equivalent
DirectX:
Version 11
Storage:
10 GB available space

64-bit OS required, 4 GB RAM? GTX 750 or equivalent, DX11 for this ancient games? 10 GB available space... seriously WTF? this games used to work on old potatoes, surely this can't be right?

And for the record i checked, GEX (the first one) is only 92MB, there's no way this collection is 10GB (weirdly enough it's only 5 GB on Steam, which is still too much but weird nonetheless)! And it gets even crazier! Under Game details; Size it says it's only 2.4 GB. So WHICH IS IT NOW!? 10GB, 5GB or 2.4GB?

Premarital Gex? On my DRM free website?

00063: -snip-
While the requirements are nonsense, it's likely GOG's lowest specification computer that they're willing to admit to owning.

mrkgnao: Thanks.
The physical copies they sell are extremely shoddy and I've had the worst experience with their customer support.
My order came months too late and was damaged, it tooke way too long to get a replacement. From what I've gathered that seems to be the norm.

Thanks. I will try to remember not to buy from them. So far, quite easy, as none of their games interest me, plus their prices seem ridiculously high.
At that price? GEX the hell outta here! lmao. But seriously, that price though.

System requirements are, in the end, based on the systems the game has been tested to work on and that the developers can provide support for. Usually, this means it's the lowest-spec system the developers have used for testing. It doesn’t mean the game won’t run on lower specs - it means that this is the lowest spec they can guarantee it will run on. If you're using a lower-spec system the game may work, but if the game doesn't work then you were warned and you're on your own.

Atleast its basically three games in one .. still kinda high for my tastes and not defending the pricing but again it at least isn't the worst price seeing as it has multiple games in it.. that full price totals to be about 10 dollars USD each ..
Oh no, I'm too young to have a second childhood!

2.4 GB (2.6 according to gogdb) is an installer download size, after unpacking it could be around 5 GB as Steam claims I imagine (which is still a lot for what it is). 10 is probably a mistake on GOG's side.

Yeah I don't think it's particularly bad at this price, though admittedly I'll be waiting for a fairly discount before picking it up.

Unfortunately, that's the way pricing works these days.
1. Some people will always buy it at full price, either because they're überfans, or this kind of money doesn't matter to them.
2. It teaches customers that video games are expensive, slowly raising the bar of what a game costs in their heads.
3. When a "deep discount" comes, bringing the price about where it should be, the customer happily pays it and has a feeling they've got a super cool deal.
Counterpoint to all the whiners: $10 per game for a newly remastered trilogy of games seems quite reasonable these days -- especially considering two of them don't seem to have ever been previously sold as downloadable titles on PC, and one of those two never got a PC port at all. Now, this is only a reasonable price if the remasters are decent (it'll probably be a while before there's any real consensus) and if one cares about the originals (which I don't in the slightest). But for fans of the series who don't want to run the old versions through emulators or compatibility layers, and who want support for modern controllers, display resolutions, etc.? $30 for the whole series shouldn't be a big ask (and I say this as someone who is currently so strapped for cash, he's had to cut out all entertainment spending :D ).
Of course, it would be better if the games were also available individually, rather than just as a trilogy, but that's kind of another matter.
