It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Recently I've started getting Google ads for GOG on sites like YouTube. Is this a new thing? Also, web ads basically show up based on your previous searches and site visits right? That's fine but obviously in this case they're targeting somebody who already visits GOG a lot. :P
I have been getting also a lot of gog ads on instagram :P ... Probably because I always press the like button at them. At least its better to have gog ads than some other ads.
well there a business they have to promote somehow and adverts i nyour browser are normally based of f browsing history and search habits, so if your getting GOG ads its obvious you look at alot of gaming related content

I don't have a problem with the ads, GOG just wants to be sure their ads are showing up for people who don't already visit the site daily. :P And yeah I'm here and pop by r/games at least once a day and watch folks like Funhaus play games.
I get em on facebook, still haven't noticed on youtube though. Maybe because i need a different google account for youtube.
Still better than that annoying scam site g2a ads.

Don't Google ads use your browser history to select what ads to show? If you do game things in the Internet, you get game ads. Or even better, you've been visiting GOG during the sale, so they don't want you to forget to buy games.
Good to know, hopefully it will bring more people :)
I wonder...

If you use chrome, perhaps. Otherwise they may try to use some tricks to try and approximate your internet history (cookies, web beacons, google analytics, like and share buttons...) to find out what you have been seeing.

The Youtube videos embedded in the game card pages? Google know you're at GOG.

But it does seem that advertisers don't know how to distinguish an existing client from a prospective one.
I don't get Google ads at all because I despise Google.
I've been seeing them a lot too recently.

Thanks for the link, never thought they actually did that, usually the browser informs you that a specific tab is using the mic.

As for adverts in general, I rarely see them thanks to the Ghostery addon.

Well, if google doesn't follow it's own rules and tracks your phone... why would they stop at not listening to your microphone?

But it might not be a specific tab (Afterall he closed the browsers). It could be embedded in the OS or added via a trojan/malware. Or blatantly in the EULA 'be careful what you say, we may be listening'. buried somewhere in their 500 page license agreements.
i dont get personalized ads. also i dont get ads.

Read the description of the video. He was live streaming this on youtube. Of course Google is listening when you're streaming on one of their services ;)
