Both are getting removed August 31.

Windforge and Schein will be getting removed from our store on August 31. Make sure to grab them now for 75% off to keep them forever in your collection.

Windforge is a steampunk action/building sidescroller where you can carve up sky whales for essential materials and then fight off enemies with your crafted gear and contraptions.
Schein takes you for an atmospheric puzzle/platformer ride through a mystical swamp whose secrets are only visible to those smart and gifted enough to see beyond the veil.

The 75% discount will last until the games' removal from the store, on August 31, 10 PM UTC.

GOG.com: Both are getting removed August 31.

Will it remain in our library?

Thank you for the heads up

Yes, they will remain in our libraries. In fact, it's even possible to redeem gift codes for the games after they've been removed. At least, that's how it was handled with past game removals.

khyeron: Funny. I found it quite playable. I don't know what the major bugs were, since I managed to get really far the game just fine. I was in the gas layer, and the only complaint I'd have is the occasional crash to desktop way back when the game was brand new. If people didn't get the bullet proof pink roach things, those things were bullet proof from behind. If people didn't get how to fly a ship or board an enemy ship, well that's like complaining that Doom is hard because you can't stay in one place and shoot everyone dead!
Perhaps, but playable and finished are two separate things. Dark Matter was playable when released on here, but far from finished and missing much of what was promised. It was also abandoned by its developers. If you're happy with what is available, that's fine, but it's not fair to new customers to sell them something which will never be completed along the lines intended.

Workster: Can anyone tell why these games are being removed?

ShawnHopscotch: Just read the poor reviews. In summary, TONS of bugs.

Good on Gog for removing hopelessly buggy games! Gog has just proven that they are certainly not Steam.
Then why weren't they removed earlier? both are from 2014.
Nobody knows why they're being removed.

"They're sucky" is just speculation.

Keep in mind that half-baked piece of shit Slenderman is still here.
Checking on isthereanydeal, I discovered that the cheapest Windforge has ever been was 80% off on GOG. The next cheapest, EVER, was 50% on STEAM. So maybe the developer compared the sales on GOG with the ones on STEAM, and came to the conclusion that it's not worth selling it here.

And here's my conspiracy theory, maybe the developers are preparing to release new updates for the game, and they didn't want to deal with maintaining the DRM-Free version.

Unfortunate, but it's their decisions to do what they want. By the way, I want to make this perfectly clear that this is all speculation.

Anyway, thank you for the heads up GOG, keep being excellent.
Purchased, just because.

"They're sucky" - the speculative in me would say they will reappear in a few months as "enhanced" versions with half the content separated out into dlc packages. Part f the improvement push.
Good one GOG!
