Asefo: I don't know if it is exact, but according to KillerBee69's review (from 2013) about Divinity dragon commander:

"Multiplayer is nice. You can play in teams. Just a quick skirmish or strategy maps.
BUT the multiplayer lobby is steam-exclusive. Vault and GOG versions can only play via LAN or DirectIPConnect. Larian is still writing "GOG, Steam, Vault etc... No differences" on their HP so they mislead at least me quite bad. They provide NO official substitute platform for non-steam users, not even a forum. MP is non-existent outside steam and since SP is shortlifed on its own."

ChrisGamer300: Neither Larian or GOG has the ability to host a server like Steam and that's the reality of it, Lan and DirectIPConnect is the substitute even if it's not official or what people want. Unfortunate but not second treatment.

I guess GOG could possible negotiate a deal with Steam to allow Galaxy to use Steam for MP but then we run into other issues, the game was never big anyway so finding mp matches couldn't have been easy some time after release so in that case the other mp solutions make sense even if they're limited.
I sympathize with those that also want the online option, but this is a good time to point out more generally how VERY FEW games (particularly newer ones) do allow LAN/direct connect/even hotseat. It seems the majority of games have ONLY non-local multiplayer, with online requiring Galaxy, to boot. If only GOG could focus its energy on negotiating with publishers and developers to have DRM-free versions of multiplayer in their games, meaning it can be played forever as long as the user has a computer, not reliant on online and certainly not reliant on a client.

This was the only option at the time. I believe it released before Galaxy was a thing. Idunno

Only speculation here (as I noticed in the release thread), about Slay the Spire:
mods updates have been restricted to Steam Workshop since original Steam release, when it could be possible to use legacy github hosted versions of mods with the 1.0 gog version.

But the 1.1 update is coming and brokes mods which will be updated and maintained only with Steam Workshop, then preventing all modding for gog customers.

+1 (and I would give you more than +1 if I could) for this! I hate it when games are bound to galaxy or connections to game publishers websites for - even local - multiplayer! One negative example for me is Age of Wonders 3. I have all aow games except 3 as physical copies too, on CD-ROMs or DVDs and sometimes in still beautiful boxes with printed manuals. All older aow titles could be played locally and also allowed e-mail games with locally saved turns.

aow3 was the first game that could not be played in a local lan with friends or via the internet without creating an account with triump (now paradox) and I hate the game publisher for that! It even made me decide that I will not buy their new game (Planetfall) until it becomes heavily discounted (around >=80 % I guess) beause sadly that's the only way we can punish game publishers these days by voting with our money and just NOT buying games with intrusive DRM...

Hello Neighbor got the 1.4 patch and should be up-to-date now. Or at least the 64-bit version. Offline installers for the 32-bit version is still 1.2.

Maybe they have dropped support for 32 bit? Does someone who owns the Steam version as well know more? At least they actually are starting to update their games - let's hope the DLCs will arrive as well.

While the GOG version of Don't Starve has finally been patched, it looks like we won't see the Hamlet DLC here for the time being according to this reply I got from Klei support:

JanH replied:
Hi (Name redacted),

Regarding your question, we don’t have anything announced at this time, but if that changes we’ll let everyone know.

The missing Ultimate Edition is not a missing feature per se, it is a separate game which had a temporary discount for owners of the original. Both versions are sold on Steam

Btw: Somebody from tinyBuild has now posted in the "what did just update" thread here. So if you still have questions replying to his post might get you answers as well.
