Indeed, the GOG versions have no feature parity compared to the Steam versions - in fact, the GOG versions are superior to the Steam versions because DRM-Free.

Those who think that the version of a game with achievements is superior to the DRM-Free version of a game - are wrong in their choice of store.

While I agree, it does still suck to miss out on features. (But I would never trade DRM-free for any such details)

I'm a broken record on the subject but I don't really want to return to 2017(ish) levels of curation. "Let games in if they pass a basic QA test; spend more time trying to "fix" significant 2nd class citizen issues (not achievements or leaderboards, but missing important patches or DLC, for example)" - my suggestion to GOG

it's quite simple the way I see it: if people want to buy Saya No Uta - go ahead, just buy it!
it's even DRM-free on jastusa.com. so what the hell are they waiting for?

you guys, tfishell and WinterSnowfall, and me - we registered on gog when it was still called "good old games". I know, that has long been abandoned, as well as the former "curated content".
but I personally am somewhat stubborn. i registered on good old games, so I want the kind of content you'd expect from such a shop.
a game that is literally depicting a man in his forties raping Saya, who looks no older than twelve, directly after murdering his wife and children ... I am sorry, but that kind of content simply does not belong here. nor anywhere else imho.

We still get Good Old Games, like Star Trek or Cave Story and Isaac or some old DOS RPGs I forgot the names of.

And I don't think anybody's saying these are "exquisite", just that they should be allowed here. I don't think GOG ever set themselves up as some kind of moral gatekeeper. Put in a review encouraging people to not buy this when it releases.

Overall, I don't want to return to GOG rejecting decent games for reasons like the artwork is "so-so" or the game is "niche" or whatever, like they were doing circa 2017 - they rejected Grimoire, Heaven's Vault, and several other decent titles whose names I can't think of before eventually unrejecting the above. So I fight for releases even if I don't like the content personally, like Succubus or Agony or the space porn game.

Honestly I think there'll be a lot more fighting on the forums over this for a long time - which won't be solved until we have WWIII. :p

Do you really think that games where children or characters which look like children are raped should be sold here or anywhere? Really? Has this type of games anything to do with the "decent" games you mentioned? I have nothing against the porn games being sold here, but there is a line that shouldn't be crossed. Rape. It is simply indefensible. I agree with springtoiffel here.

By the way, this kind of content is also automatically forbidden in Germany. It doesn't need to be put on the Index of the BzKJ. The creation and the distribution of such games are indictable in Germany. Foreign websites offering these contents risk to get blocked. And fellow citizens who buy games with children or characters which look like children (<-- the German penal code doesn't make a difference here) being raped are risking a lawsuit and a prison sentence. The rape shit is criminal.
