Another potentially good game was rejected by GOG as "too niche". Are you surprised?

Space Komandirovka looks like good old Sierra On-Line advenure games, but influenced by the Soviet Union aesthetics (mostly by its space program).

I contacted the developer and he told me that GOG had already rejected the game.

Add Legends of Amberland to the list. Apparently the animations were too retro style and there weren't enough shadows. Too remniscent of a good old game like Lands of Lore and not remniscent enough of Legends of Grimrock.

Oh well.

If you were looking forward to possibly maybe pick up Overpass (Community wishlist entry) on GoG - well, abandon all hope, at least for the time being.

Further proof that during curation there's no consideration of the wishlist entries, votes don't mean jack shit and there's no god.
You're making sure to not create an entry for some run-of-the-mill tat but for something worthwhile and unique with an interesting concept and this is how you're thanked for it.

While curation's decision once again is REALLY unfortunate (and that's putting it politely) don't forget that this initial rejection doesn't rule out a reconsideration/re-evaluation and future release of Overpass on GoG after all, especially if it performs well enough on other platforms.
We've seen that with Opus Magnum and just recently, Heaven's Vault.

Last time I looked GOG is a business making a profit is the #1 Priority for any business,. It it's not, they don't survive for very long.
God, I can't believe so many people here seem to be out of touch with reality.

Please also read the two sentences after the one you highlighted. Rejecting a game for reasons other than "game is bad" might be the right economic decision in the short term, but can also lead to negative reactions in the press, the gaming-community or among the user-base. And that might harm GOG in the long term.

There's about 10 versions of the same thing within the first few pages on Steam, it's like "solve the puzzle to get a free naked anime girl!" with each game having various images.

I don't mind variance, but on Steam it's taking over.
