So with Disney, Warner Bros., and Paradox Interactive (a dev until now has been Steam only) arriving here GOG is on a role/ (I don't how the guys in charge manage to pull it off) now if only they can somehow put the effort to convince Publishers already here to release the old school games they have left in their cataloge I am talking of EA, Activision, Ubisoft, etc. I made a list of old classic PC games from these pubs that have not been released here yet so discuss what are the chances each game could come here:

EA:

Black and White games
Westwood's Command and Conquer
SimCity 1 and 3000
The Sims 1 and 2
Battlefield games before Frostbite Engine
Crysis 1 and Warhead

Activision:

Vampires the Masquerade Bloodlines
SWAT 4
Call of Duty 1+United Offensive

Ubisoft:

Rainbow Six 2 and 3
Splinter Cell 2 and 3
Brothers in Arms games.

Other pubs:

Civilization
Syatem Shock 1
Tron 2.0 (Its on Steam now so why not here?)
Worms World Party
Wizardry 1 to 5

its a bit chaotic right now

Completionist's List of missing games from GOG series and Missing original IPs from signed publishers. You are welcome.

l0rdtr3k:
I did placed Battlefield (specifically the games before the Frostbite games with Bad Company 1 to Hardline though BC 1 and 1943 were console exclusives)

Also I think Dragon Age Origins has a better chance of being here than Mass Effect because of DLC reasons. ME 2 and 3 are too closely tied to EA websites. At least DA:O came with an Ultimate Edition with DLC included. Well can you at least comment on the chances and reasons of the games in my list's potential of being here?

OK.

Elmofongo: EA:

Black and White games
Westwood's Command and Conquer
SimCity 1 and 3000
The Sims 1 and 2
Battlefield games before Frostbite Engine
Crysis 1 and Warhead
Black and White might be in a legal mess as the rights might be divided between EA and Lionhead Studios, which has been purchased by Microsoft, making a rerelease difficult. EA likes to keep the Command and Conquer games strictly under Origin control, with the only exceptions being Command and Conquer 3+4 and Red Alert 3, which are not the games that are the most wanted around here. I can't really comment on the rest of the games, aside from EA's willingness/unwillingness to provide them.

Elmofongo: Activision:

Vampires the Masquerade Bloodlines
SWAT 4
Call of Duty 1+United Offensive
Well, we haven't seen an Activision release for a long time, but out of those games, Vampires the Masquerade: Bloodlines is probably the most unlikely of the three, as it's based on a license and Activision might no longer hold a license to sell the game outside Steam anymore (might also be a reason why the game was removed from DotEmu).
avatar
Elmofongo: Ubisoft:

Rainbow Six 2 and 3
Splinter Cell 2 and 3
Brothers in Arms games.
Another company that hasn't released a single game for close to two years now. Aside Ubisoft's unwillingness to release games here, I don't see a particular reason why they couldn't be here (though Pandora Tomorrow is not sold on other stores).

Other pubs:

Civilization
Syatem Shock 1
Tron 2.0 (Its on Steam now so why not here?)
Worms World Party
Wizardry 1 to 5
The Civilization franchise is owned by Take-Two/2K, so without them here, we won't see a release. I'm not sure what the case might be with System Shock 1, but I suspect that legal reasons might prevent a rerelease. Tron 2.0 is probably just a matter of time, as are other Disney-owned games, but GOG/Disney might have wanted to focus on the heavy-hitters (Star Wars) first. Team 17 seems to not be releasing their older stuff here anymore, so I'm not very optimistic of the chances about an old game that's not even on Steam. As for Wizardry 1+5? Beats me.

So despite the unwillingness there is a higher chance of the Ubisoft games being here? You think after the flop of AC:Unity, the dissipointment of Watch Dogs, and the meh reaction of Far Cry 4 you think Ubisoft would at least cash in on their old games.

I did not know that Civilization was 2K games. I know that the old games were Microprose (which I think they are here already) So 2K also owns Mechwarrior?

I just don't see a particular reason for those games not being here, other than GOG/Ubisoft not wanting them. They are already available on other stores, which definitely puzzles me.

Microprose as the company that developed/published Civilization/X-Com and the like have shut down their operations over 10 years ago and their games have been sold to various other companies. For instance, Tommo (under their Retroism brand) own games like BloodNet, the original Colonization, the original Pirates and Silent Service, while Take-Two/2K have purchased the Civilization and X-Com IPs.

As for Mechwarrior, well, it's a legal mess.

Elmofongo: SimCity 1
Is available as a public project as Micropolis, is free and open source. I pointed this out the last time SimCity Classic was brought up.
^why uplay off course

and lets not start about mechwarrior

fasa ceased to be 14 years ago but still excists to hold the rights
and the last mechwarrior book released was in 2010

the dark age novels series are published by wizkids

the first 3 games are developed by activision and published by activision
then 3 by zipper interactive and published by microprose

4 by fasa interactive and published by multiple publishers including microsoft

online is a pay 2 win mmo thats released last year

and tactics is dead

most of the mech games however have been published either by activision or microsoft
and around 3 or 4 by microprose

Even for the games that are already available on Steam/GamersGate without the need for Uplay?

A massive legal mess when you also throw in the Battletech Licence.
