Big thanks to everyone for chiming in with their opinion, it really helped us greatly to see the overall sentiment regarding the subject.

After consideration we have decided that from now on all threads regarding any kind of delisting will be stickied, starting from the time of the announcement to the time when said delisting actually happens. After that, they will be un-stickied.
With this we hope to increase the visibility for everyone interested, so that they can finalise their purchase before the product disappears from our storefront.

While I'm here, I'd also like to reassure you that we will let you know about delistings as soon as we receive the information from the publisher (or otherwise) ourselves.

I am also planning on cleaning up the sticky list as it is a bit cluttered right now, but that will come at a later date.

If you got any questions, let me know!

I think it needs more attention, like flashing lights and the topic having yellow-black striped background and an alarmsound like this.

Sachys: Actually its buried under years of favourited threads. Secondly having been here for so long I automatically scroll past stickies.

FrodoBaggins: 1. 9 stickies is hardly a lot to look at. So they are by no means buried. Especially when you look at the sea of non-sticky threads underneath.

2. I've been here longer than you, and I still find the sticky threads useful, and easy to find... because they're at the top.

3. Again... if there's a new sticky you haven't read, it shows up in bold so it stands out, so you can't miss it.

FrodoBaggins: How can you not see the thread?

It's at the top of the page, so it's not lost in a sea of other posts.
And if you haven't read it yet, it shows up in bold, so it stands out.

This, this, this. I missed the entire discussion while opinions were being heard BECAUSE this thread was stickied. Obviously that massively biased the results.

FrodoBaggins: I'm the ignorant one? Because I can navigate the forums? Because I can scroll to the top of the page? Because I don't pretend that having stickies at the top is the end of the world? Because I've pointed out that unread stickies are in bold so they stand out?

Clearly you can get to the forum page, so it's not buried. And it's a conscious choice to scroll past the stickies - noone is making you do that.

Don't bother embarrassing yourself anymore by replying.
100% with Sachys here and I know we're not alone because literally every time a delisting thread is unstickied, a whole bunch of people see it for the first time and go "I only just saw this!".

I fully accept you see the stickies, how about you accept that lots of others don't?

btw, was it announced that the original version of Mafia 2 would not be available anymore?.

I already own it and I am glad I got Mafia 2 DE (that replaced it) for free, but it took me by surprise. I didn't see an according post.

It's a good question. GOG doesn't seem to post delisting threads when a game is "replaced" by a different version unfortunately. I would hope that the original would come with the DE as a bonus download.
Something that I do hate is that a game that I own in GOG that was delisted does not have any kind of game card whatsoever in the website.

It would be easy to solve if GOG wanted: keep it but show it as delisted. It can be made accessible only to owners, if GOG does not want to show nothing at all of the game anymore to third parties.

According to the gogdb Mafia II Classic is included in the Mafia II Definitive Edition:
https://www.gogdb.org/product/1943447848#references

However, the store page doesn't mention this:
https://www.gog.com/en/game/mafia_ii_definitive_edition

Mafia Classic is still available:
https://www.gog.com/en/game/mafia

Mafia III: Definitive Edition is a just new name for Mafia III plus all Story DLCs.

Clownski_: Hey everyone!

We've seen some discussion in regards to this topic, so we want to ask you officially now:
If a game is leaving our catalogue, should we sticky the announcement thread until said delisting happens?

Yes, no, why, why not? Give us your thoughts so we can reach a consensus. :)

Cheers!
Hi,
I know, I'm a month late to the party, but I wanted to chime in, and give my perspective on things, anyway:

while making these threads sticky would be (or is) fine, it would be even better if they get a different colored "dot".

So far we have:
- "green" for any normal thread
- "yellow" for any thread, marked as a question
- "blue" for any "GOG News" thread, and
- "orange" for any sticky thread

The problem with making "delisting" threads simply "normal sticky" threads, is that - as long as someone isn't explicitly looking for them - they go easily under among the normal sticky threads.

However - giving them a distinctive color, reserved for "delisting threads"only, would enhance their visibility significantly.

So, why not give the "delisting threads" a bright "red" dot?

Then you can make them sticky, and yet they will stand out among the other sticky threads with ease.

Just my two cents.

Kind reminder about that "later date" :). If you could please at least unsticky this thread as a start...
