Oh boy, let's see what genres I don't play, or don't prefer:

Multiplayer FPS ( even if I'm 15, I don't like playing them)
4X Games ( Endless Legend it's the exception)
MMO's( I think that MOBA's are in that category, right? well, I'll name it again)
MOBA's
Sports Games
Racing Games
Defense Tower Games
RTS Games( Unless it has a good story... wait do they even have a story?)
I don't know what are they called, but games like Minecraft ( bought Terrarria without knowing what it's about)
Sim and City builder Games

If I didn't leaved anything out, I think that's about it.
I'm not big into games leaning into soft porn for some reason. I have no issue with porn okay, but when games start to offer too much female nudity I start to feel like my wife's gonna jump on me and start shouting! :)

Half-kidding... but it's just poor developers' choice in my book. I have no issue with games that have a character whose mission is to hit on women like Larrys (Larries? Larryes?) but when I start to feel like I'm treated like a fourteen year old rich boy, things start to feel superficial and I tend to feel distanced from the game world. Which is a shame. Maybe the game is great, I'll never know.

I mean not saying there's anything wrong with the appreciation of the female body. Just that when things reflect certain aspects of the real world too much... I mean just throw in a few nude male butts and I'd feel more comfortable, at least! :p

-> And all this stuff creeping into one of my favourite genres, rpgs... It's annoying! I mean it's not very convincing to have dozens of half naked women running around in a world that is probably even more hostile than the real world... Why would they dress like that?
Then again when it's done with style and/or humour it's not so much of a rage quitter for me.

tinyE: I have three versions of that on my PC and I love it. :D When I say Turn Based I mean the strategic military ones. I've always despised movement points and stuff. I just want to walk up and shoot the asshole, not sit there for two hours and figure out the shortest possible route and angle strategy! :P
0.0 you have three versions of monopoly on your PC? I suppose it's possible that there exist some video game versions of monopoly that are to the original board game what Battlechess is to regular chess :P

So, uhm my memory is a bit garbage, but does that mean you haven't played the original Fallout then? - imagine yourself in a dark interrogation room with a bright white light in your face as I'm asking that question (with the cigarette smoking man in the corner)

I've played Fallout and I like it, but it is far from my favorite game ever and I doubt I'll ever play it all the way through. It's good in small doses.
rts games and other games that involve strategy

i have zero strategic insight
and my "strategy" tends to involve creating as much units as possible and rush the enemy and trying to flood them casualties be damned

im also spectacularly bad at platforming games
and always miss judge jumps

i loath other genres but those two i really got nothing with
im not good at them so i generally dont play them

Ah ok then. Well mr tinyE, you're free to go, for now, but don't even think about leaving town. We'll be watching you...
Zombies. Have a hard time with military FPS as well.
I usually avoid anything remotely turn-based, be it RPGs, strategy games or whatever game out there that has that game mechanic. I can play some of them, but either the turn-based mechanic in it is *very* light and easy to get into (and if it doesn't require loads of lateral thinking and strategizing stuff) or they have enough interesting story, characters and/or setting to make me overlook the fact they're turn-based -- the ones that come to mind are the first two Fallout games, which I love despite being turn-based.

Not too fond of strategy titles, including TBS, RTS, Grand Strategy, 4X and all kinds of simulators and managerial games. Nothing against those types of games, I just don't have the patience required to sit through them. Some of my friends are die-hard strategy fans and I enjoy watching them play, but I just can't bring myself to play them, personally.

I also don't care much for sports games, unless we're talking about some very unrealistic, combat-heavy racing game, in which case I'm more than willing to play it. Since I was never a fan of sports, their video game iterations tend to get the same amount of love from me.

So far, I'm amazed at the number of users in this thread saying they dislike turn-based stuff and strategy games, I was honestly kind of ashamed by not liking those genres of games, and I thought most of the GOG community loved them (particularly strategy games). This was a nice surprise for me! :P

I'm a bit surprised by the number of people stating RTS on here as a genre they can't play / don't like. Doesn't bode well for my favorite genre :(
1.) Sports games (exception: Ski or Die)

2.) Card games (why play this on the computer, wtf?)

3.) Walking simulators (I won't even try those, seriously)

4.) MMORPG (no patience to deal with egomaniac 14 year olds, and egomaniacs in general so no thanks)

5.) Hidden Object games (give me an adventure, I already get the HOG experience when searching for stuff in my apartment)

6.) Platformers (exception: a few classics like Abuse and some puzzle platformers with little platforming)

7.) Civilian flight sims (used to love em, no more patience for that nowadways)

8.) modern FPS (won't run on my craptop)

Sports games in general, although I have enjoyed some Mario Sports games.

I am not too fond of stealth games, the closest I come are AC I and IV, but it never stays stealthy long. I don't like Splinter Cell much and I only ever played the demos to MGS 2 and 3.

Most car games I only play just to look at and mess with the cars I like, but I never buy; I just borrow my brother's if ever the need arises. Otherwise, I like Mario Kart.

I got Hearts of Iron 3, but after trying it a few times I just could not get into it and pretty much avoid games like it now.

Indie games generally fall into games I can't play. Exceptions are games like Swords and Soldiers, NyxQuest, and a couple more, otherwise the whole indie vibe kills it for me. Anything that might remotely seem hipsterish is included in that, and as states almost any indie game I find annoying.

Agree entirely on walking sims.

I used to like Flight Simulator '98 but never had the patience for it.

Sure absolutely you like what you like no apologies, it's simply a case of me being worried that there aren't enough people who like what I really like so that perhaps there isn't is a strong enough incentive for developers to create what I really like instead of creating what I don't like or only like instead of really like. (as jy verstaan wat ek bedoel)
