I am downloading an 3.5 G update and it is moving at between .2 and .3 MB/s. I am good for 1.25 MB/s. Anyone else having this issue? This is dreadfully bad...
Holy shit, that's even slow for me and my connection is the pits.
We go round every two-hundred-million years...
YES. THere is DEFINITELY something going on here.

I don't use Galaxy, but I just tried to download a game and it was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy slower than usual. I mean way slower. I usually get about 10-12MB/s downloading games from here. Just now I got 1.7. ONE. POINT. Seven.

Something's up. Are we under attack? Or something else?

Well it's definitely something going on. I've tried to DL multiple games and the speeds are all less than 10% of what I normally get. I hope this isn't the new norm.
Right now they are busy making sure that the Galaxy 1.2 Update is ready for launch next month. It might have something to do with that. :P

Any idea if will be in the first week? Did they give any hints when it will be released? I'm waiting because I preffer using something more stable.

So far I've only heard "in April". It wont be long until they announce an official date. My guess is probably halfway through the first week. ^^

You Americans. Everything has to be so big for you. Your cowboy hats, your dicks, your vaginas... everything is HUUUGE.

1.7 MB/s is faster than my cable modem connection. I sometimes get better speeds with my 4G mobile connection though (I still find it a bit odd that my mobile internet connection can be considerably faster than my fixed internet connection).

Testing: I am now downloading Delta Force 2 with Firefox (not Galaxy). 1.2Mbytes/s (which is around 10Mbit/s, ie. the maximum speed of my cable modem connection).

All is well.

Guys, could you please compare your download speeds in Galaxy to:
- Download speed for in-browser (or some downloader) website installer download from https://www.gog.com/account
- Download speed for other non-GOG stuff

and reply here? Thanks.

edit: Please include country you're at in the reply. And if you're using proxies.

lol....

I've been paying for 24mbps while all i got was 4Mbps (meaning i was downloading with 0.4mb/sec).
And that was the best case scenario.
Sometimes with my old ISP, we used to get 0.9-2.3 Mpbs (translates to 100kbytes/sec - 220kbytes/sec).
While still paying for 24Mbps.

Then we'd go on to work on the farm with nails inside our shoes, until our father was throwing acid on our chest and would thrash us to sleep with his belt.

Haven't tried the new version of Galaxy yet. Let me check.

Just checked. Started downloading Painkiller : Overdose. Max and and stable download speed : 5.5Mbps. Which is pretty much my top speed for my current VDSL connection. 50mbps.
Maybe it has to do with certain games?

I would guess country is more probable answer. :)
