Congratulations, misteryo!

The last one wasn't well visited, but since there are holidays about everywhere this month, maybe you got more time on your hands now.

Requirements:
- rep of at least +30
- join date before June 2014
- submit a piece of art in any form: tune, painting, drawing, game, mod, carving, writing, whatever
-> made in December 2014 by yourself (means between first and last of December)
- hand made stuff may be preferred but other entries are welcome too, there were awesome chiptunes once
- at least 3 serious participants (I know, I wasn't very consequent with this rule last time)
- don't worry, we're (mostly) all amateurs

I don't claim any rights to the entries, just want to see that people are creating and not only consuming stuff.

Finish line: First day of 2015

Price: Choose a game.
With at least 6 participants, a second prize will be given, with 8 there'll be a third prize.

Instead of choosing what I think would be good prizes, I just post a link to what I got and you can choose yourself this time:
http://www.gog.com/forum/general/gogs_general_trading_thread/post365
Better mention it in your post so I don't gift/trade it away, list may shrink or grow in the meantime.

Former rounds:
First
Second
Third

greetings,
Klumpen

Oh bless you for another round! I do so enjoy the creative giveaways! I'll do my best to enter this time! :D
Not in, but thanks for the giveaway Klumpen0815! +1
Seems like everybody is distracted by the big winter sale.

Maybe I'll post a pic of this year's Advent wreath later. Not really a wonder of creation, but at least completely made by myself ;-) .. Have to search for my camera.
A very cool giveaway!!

I will try and come up with something creative later, although my creative skills are not all that LOL
I will enter this month. Space reserved for forthcoming poetry masterpiece.
OK. Something. A WIP. Snapshot moments from what may someday be a bit longer of a short story. Let's get this thread moving at any rate, shall we?

Getting at the man

At the end of 12 hours, you couldn't forget anymore that it's a gym. The posters and display racks, the specials signs, the commemorative limited edition action figures, the brochures of upcoming products, the books in piles, the books fanned artfully, the books propped against other books, the books in sets, the books in series, the books in clear plastic bags--they were all still there, but the glamour had dripped out. Can you pinpoint the moment a headache starts? Or do you wake to the accomplished fact of it as you stare unfocusedly at one Teenage Schoolboys in Hell promotional flyer that has been pressure-molded by half a day's traffic of Doc Martin's and Crocs to the exact shape of the wrinkles and folds in the 6 mil black plastic sheeting which protects the urethaned court beneath. NO STREET SHOES! Under which of these high-gloss merchant banners does that more permanent sign now hide? Surely it is here, somewhere.

"I'm going for a cigarette."
"They'll lock the doors on you in 15 minutes."
"They can goddam try."

Nobody recognized him in the gauntlet of collectibles stands. Nobody recognized him as he skirted the southern end of Artists Alley. Nobody outside the women's restroom recognized him--thank god--as he cut across their long line. Nobody at the food court recognized him as he stepped around the three brimming garbage containers and pushed on the bar to open one of the green double steel doors. The security guard looked at him but without intention. He was only paid to care about those coming in.

Out here was the grease recepticle for the fast food joints inside. You had a good view of the loading docks. The asphalt was still soft from the sun, and there were no damn palms. He lit a cigarette and held it between his lips as he rubbed his right wrist. He should've put the bracelet on his left wrist. This happened at the last convention, too. His wrist always got sore after a day of signing, and now on top of that the bracelet chafed, too. Sore on the inside and tender to the touch on the outside. He missed his typewriter.

"I hate to bring it up, but have you made any progress on that introduction?"
"No! No, I haven't."
"Look, I know the conventions have been..."
"It's not the conventions."
"You've been away from home, you're not sleeping regularly..."
"It's not the conventions."
"...but this is the last stop. Tomorrow it's back home and then back to business."
"It's not the travel."
"And there'll be messages on the machine. I'll be getting calls. You'll be getting calls."
"It's not the travel. It's not the sleep. And it's not the goddam conventions!"
"It's a favor. He was your friend, he lived at your house."
"Damn it, it's the words!"
"You agreed. You smiled."
"I don't smile."
"I saw you. He was your friend, and this is the first anthology of his work, and they want you to write the introduction. You want to write the introduction. Why don't you write it?"
"It's the words."
"You're a writer!"
"Look. You can't just..."
"Sylvia wants you to write it. Sylvia."
"...can't just write it."
"You write a thousand words a day. Just write it. Write it tonight."
"I write 500 words a day."
"You write a thousand. You smiled. Write it. For Sylvia, write it."
"Listen. You can write 500 words..."
"A thousand."
"500. Words a day. About anything you want. Until it's about a real person."
"And then, what? Less, more? 750? What?"
"And then it matters. What you write, it matters."
"You want someone else to end up writing it? Because the anthology's getting published. And there will be an introduction."
"Maybe somebody else should."
"If it matters as much as you say it does..."
"..."
"I'll talk to you tomorrow. Booth at nine..."
"Nine o'clock, I know."
"... presentation at eleven, ..."
"Good night!"
"...and then we can go home."

They found their seats, unpadded metal folding chairs at a round card table for eight. The white paper covering had been cut square, so the people at seats 2, 4, 6 and 8 had to deal with an uncooperative dangling triangle, while the odd numbered stared down at the exposed edge of the metal-ringed tabletop. He looked up toward the head table to plot his course when the time came to accept his award. A clear shot, good. No microphone cables to trip over, very few hands to shake on the way. Take a right around the end of the long recatangular table--remember to smile--and then up the two or three aluminum steps to the podium...

"You bastard."
"Hmmm?"
"What is Sylvia doing here?"
"She's presenting your award."
"You didn't tell me."
"I chose not to tell you."
"Bastard"
"Yes, I got that."
"I don't know--"
Bitner leaned in and whispered, "Listen up. I'm going to go up and tell Werner how glad you are to be here and how much you've enjoyed the convention and meeting all your fans. I'm going to go over the last-minute details with him, because that's my job. I'll be back before they call you up. You sit here and make small talk with these nice people. Because that's your job. Jenny Strickland here wrote a wonderful little comic in which Shakespeare and Jack the Ripper have a surprising encounter on an alien spacecraft. You could ask her about that."
Come on, boys and girls! ;)
Bumping this for creativity! Very interesting concept.

I'll post my entry later.
Bumping again.

I'm not going to be in this round, but here's something from me. It started in the Draw and Guess the Game thread, but I decided to finish it. I'm trying to practise my comic book style.

Somewhat-finished parking garage for my kid's toy cars.

I'll draw up some ventilation fans, some gratings, stairwell doors, floor numbers, and a big sign. I'll get them printed with my next stack of photos, cut 'em out and glue 'em on. There are two more ramps around the back of the garage, so you can drive up the entire structure in a kind of spiral.

Not in, thanks.

edit:
Yay. The GOG attach button isn't responding. I'll try to upload the photo again later.

Still needs at least two more participants.
It's a crying shame that there have been so few participants in this giveaway! I know that we have some super-creative people here at GOG!

Hey, y'all, if you're not in for the prize, you can still participate!

As for me, this month has been SO very hectic that I've not been able to come up with anything.

... Oh, wait! Yes I did, although I don't have a picture go along with it ;D I edited my own fudge recipe to make a fabulous Orange-flavored Fudge! Here's the recipe:
(THIS MAKES A DOUBLE BATCH!)

- 3 bags chocolate chips (get the good ones! Hershey or Nestle or whatever your favorite is! The better the chips, the better-tasting the fudge will be!
- 2 cans sweetened condensed milk
- 1 jar Marshmallow creme
- 1 1/2 teaspoons orange extract
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Wax paper-lined extra-large casserole dish or pizza pan
- Pizza cutter

Pour condensed milk into a heavy saucepan and turn on heat to medium-low, then add chocolate chips.

Stir occasionally making sure that the chocolate does not stick to the bottom of the pan and get overheated. When the mixture is smooth and shiny, remove from heat.
NOTE: This will take a while, but you're much less likely to scorch the chocolate on medium-low heat

Scoop out most of the marshmallow creme (I didn't add all of it) and partially mix into the fudge. You want the fudge to be kind of streaked-looking. There are two reasons for this: 1) The flavorings will meld with the marshmallow creme a bit this way, and 2) You'll know that the flavorings are completely mixed in when you no longer see any streaking!

Add in the orange extract and vanilla extract, then mix well.

Pour into prepared pan, then place in the refrigerator to cool.

Turn fudge onto cutting board, peel off paper, then replace the loosened paper and flip the fudge and paper so that the paper is on the bottom.

Use a pizza cutter to cut the fudge (SO MUCH EASIER than a knife!) You can place the cut fudge back into (or on to) the pan you originally prepared it in if you're not ready to divvy out the loot. XD

Once again, this makes a DOUBLE batch, but it's much easier than a single batch since you don't have to measure the chocolate chips. ;)

EDIT: I forgot to say that I'm not in unless you need an extra participant!
