I was wondering if anybody here could help me solve a technical issue. I'm on the last mission of episode 2, and for some reason guns suddenly make no sound. It just happened out of the blue, and no amount of thinkering with options changes it. Any idea of how I could overcome this?

Btw, the game is absolutely fantastic.

Edit: nevermind. The problem fixed itself after the second computer restart. Windows magic.

For anyone looking to play Blade of Agony (BoA), make sure that on https://boa.realm667.com/index.php/download, you select the Standalone version of Blade of Agony. BoA expects at least GZDoom 4.6 r195, so if you decide to run boa.ipk3 in your already existing GZdoom folder (not the Standalone version), then make sure BoA is running in at least GZDoom 4.6 r195.

To check what version of GZdoom you're running, run any of the games GZdoom supports, press the ` key to bring down the console, then look in the lower right-hand corner of the console. The GZdoom version number will be shown there.

It doesn’t actually run if you try to just use the files with other gzdoom versions. Same with previous version, you will get errors such as decoration errors and such like.

Great mod. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

No, it works well with GZDoom 4.5.0, which is the current version officially available on the GZDoom page on zdoom.org. The only error is 'Script error, "boa.ipk3:mapinfo.txt" line 143: Unknown property 'disableskyboxao' found in map definition', but as long as you have AO turned off there's no effect. (I mean, it still works with AO on, but the skybox is messed up.)

Strange, it didn’t on mine. Maybe I missed a file, but running the ipk just game me errors. Same as the pk3 from the previous release. I forget which version I am using, it might be the one before the current one. I can see why they recommend the stand-alone if version of gzdoom breaks things.
I have to say, this game is crazy long. I mean,it's already gone on for longer than I thought it would, and I'm only in like 6th or maybe 7th mission (and some of those levels are loooooooooong). I'm really impressed with how much work this must have been, although I'm actually also starting to get worried it might eventually overstay it's welcome (I think I read there are something like 30 levels?).
Yes, the levels are very long but the game, as far as I can tell (I'm halfway through chapter 3 now), remains interesting. The only annoying parts were the 'secret' missions in chapter 1 and 3. The one in chapter 1 had a time limit, which sucks, and the one in chapter 3 had infinitely spawning enemies, which gets annoying after a while. But the rest of the game is great!

15h in, nearly 3/4 through chapter 3 and now you mention there is secret levels, aaaarrrggh!

Yes, some of the mission are huge, but there is plenty of variation. Thought stealth could have been utilised a bit more.

Oh, another note for others, if like me you are a bit thick, trying to alter brightness/contrast so you can see anything in levels with fog, you can actually turn the fog off. In options use the search for feature and type fog. It was a true face palm after squinting at the grossly skewed brightness screen trying to see the guy shooting at me for hours!

Well, not that secret. That's why I put it in quotation marks. It's a special level you go to when you collect all 6 clues in Mission 1 of Chapter 3 and it has lots and lots of respawning zombies.

Yep, I collected all 6, chap said he would look into it. I don’t make a habit of talking to all npcs in the hub, so maybe that’s why I missed it. Will check.
So I discovered a "super secret" level in Chapter 3 toward the end. Now I wonder if I missed other super secret levels.

I found the levels where you collect the items, and the cartridges from the safes, but are there others?

Wait, wait, wait, you mean to say that the time-limit level was optional? This was my "reward" for finding all the files? I could have skipped that? Fuck :D

Ok, I'm definitely not gathering any clues from now on :D

We always knew you didn't have a clue ;o)

Yes I do! Ok, it's called Cluedo unless you're from the US, but still. Haven't played in ages though.
