I am really happy about The Witcher 3 and really like the free DLCs but not impressed by the content of the DLCs. These DLCs are basically content that should have been in the game anyway, the DLCs do not offer much except new look, armor etc. The worst of it all is that the DLCs are too late as well, the armor and weapons you get is for such low levels that most of us are already level 20 and up and NOW only do we get DLCs for gear which is for level 10-15. So basically the DLCs are useless by the time we get it. This is just my realistic opinion about the gear you get which is too low for people like us who started playing since launch day. Either the DLCs should have gear that is level 30 or above or rather give us DLCs with missions or crafting material thats difficult to find, the gear DLCs mean absolutely nothing for me because its too late and too low level.
Thanks anyway CD Project, love the Witcher 3 and what you guys delivered and i support you guys but the free DLCs not really so great.
I too share this assessment. The DLCs so far do add only tiny, minor things and for many gamers they will come too late. Would have been better to either make them available earlier (upon release) or bundle them into something bigger. I guess it is a feeble attempt at creating/maintaining interest. Thankfully I anticipated that and did not buy TW3 yet. So I can enjoy the full experience for less money at a later time. I know this sounds harsh, but what else can I do in such a world.

As a general rule of thumb: Free Weapons/Armors/Mappacks/Skins as DLCs are not worth the time to even look at them. There may be notable exceptions but in general I hope they die out.

lonewolfgk: I will only ever play your awesome game once, so why add content for sections I have already passed?
If you only play it once, it still isn't as good as Master of Magic!

Actually, I can relate to this. Small games that I really enjoy I'll ocasionally replay, but a huge RPG like this... I just don't have the time.

This is also one of the main reasons why I hardly ever pick up new-ish games, there's always stuff being fixed, tweaked and added during the first months and I want the full experience. So I wait for the final editions with all the trimmings.

That may be true, but they do add impressively to the free DLC count.

Eh, those are just marketing gimmicks to bring more people to buy the game. They were definitely made before release and are just slowly released to keep up the interest.

That's the point though - to maintain the illusion that CDPR is flooding the game with free DLC in some fit of generosity. It might be a little disingenuous, but at least the actual paid expansions are looking to be just that - expansive - and that they aren't going for the microtransaction/micro-DLC model that EA et al. are infamous for.
There are plenty of ways the story can play out; consider the DLCs things to freshen up your second playthrough. Around the time the expansions come out, the proper, "here's a bunch of new stuff to go look at," you'll also have a bunch of little stuff to see as well.

If you bought the game on release, you should probably try to set your expectations accordingly - to play the game that was sold on release.
Why I'm not playing until they're done.
That is very badly thought out, I haven't started the game yet, so I guess I'll hold on until they are finished, thanks :)
I am pretty sure that the free DLC is a joke/jab @ other games, and also served as PR.

None of it will be statistically great.

Like Tannath said:

Same problem here, i just do not have the time to play a big RPG like this a second time, so i expect all that you should have be available from the start. Trust me when i say these free DLC's were done and ready when game was done but like previous people said already, they releasing in drips and drabs to keep the interest going and perhaps get more sales because of free DLC's.

For me this does not work, give me the game as it should with all content and let me play it, chances are i will never come back to the game because of time constraints. So once i am done with Witcher 3 i really do not think i will play it a second time. Most games i do not even go back to them when they release big DLC's with new missions etc because i do not have the time and used to game anyway by then.

Chances are i have moved on to another new release that i like.

But these free DLC's not really nice effort, too late and too low level, i still say it should have been part of game from launch date.

Anyway that is my opinion, lol.
