I just thought of something: Is Mafia PGO a thing?

I really believe Gym's claim. The whole going about reading the two ways of dealing with the role. The breadcrumbs.

But what if he was PGO and Mafia?

That's a powerful Mafia role, but this is role madness, and with the roles Town likely to have Mafia need some heavy power stuff to counter it. Mafia PGO would balance it.

And it would explain Gym's behaviour, his breadcrumbs and the fact that he was so keen on a Cop investigating him.

JoeSapphire: Less than around 24 hours left, and you're largest wagon with two votes away from lunch.

Ideally, how would you like this to proceed?
avatar
nmillar: Ideally I don't want to claim, as I feel my role is more beneficial to town if it's not revealed at this stage. However, if the consensus is that I should do so, then I am happy to comply.

The downside to revealing my role is that it's going to generate a brand new topic of discussion with the extra information it potentially provides.
So why pique everyone's interest with the offer of claim? If you're biggest wagon this close to deadline you'll probably be made to claim soon for other reasons...

ZFR: and the fact that he was so keen on a Cop investigating him.
what? is that a thing?
avatar
ZFR: But what if he was PGO and Mafia?
No way. That's another potential kill for the mafia. The point of the role is to be extremely swingy. The mafia knowing about it removes that swing instantly. Even a neutral alignment makes no sense as the player doesn't gain anything from it personally and the role presence of the role would only affect everyone else. That would be a dick mod move and trent is anything but.

Think for a second on this: How would it benefit a scum!me to claim PGO?

If I was scum and PGO my scum buddy would know such already, so no need to claim for their benefit....and claiming would effectively nerf any chances of having town fall into that sort of trap.

Re the asking town to look into me: As I said.....I figured any town PRs would see that and stay away, and I did it early on so i'd have ample time before EOD to claim and keep them safe if need be.

Because it's the only way I can provide an answer to BJ's question about why I was interested in whether GymHenson has the "bulletproof" modifier that is often attributed to his role claim.

Also, no harm in forcing the mafia to consider me as a viable target, as I may / may not be a danger to them.

Like I said, if the majority want me to claim, then I will do so, but so far only yourself and Vitek seem to be suggesting I should?

Where's this from? That changes everything if true.

Didn't OP or someone say scum had day chat in this game?

----

Also @ Joe: Yes, I tried acting like I wanted town possible investigative roles to look into me...hoping they'd NOT look into me at all....a risky gambit, but I wanted to keep the PR I have hidden if I could for as long as I could.

His exact words:
"If we have a cop they could investigate me.....that way if I was scum(totally not tho) town could lynch me, and if I was town I wouldn't be a distraction.

Of course that would likely expose such a role if they had to out me....but it'd be worth it if i were scum to lose one town player and then halve(?) the scum team."

He even underlined it.

But Mafia already have only 2 out of 10. 20%. Smaller than usual. Would a single additional kill make them overpowered? It's a power madness. Of course it's swingy. Remember we have a vig who if not for the circumstances could have really halped us late-game, and even early game creates an Innocent Child.

Sorry, guys, but the more I look into it, the more it fits. It explains Gym's behaviour in many ways. Plus I'm really not sure how sure how comfortable I feel with a person who's got such a convenient excuse for not getting killed nor investigated every Night.
On top of that, I really like nmillar's later posts. And Gym's feel off.

At risk of looking very role-hoppy and starting a wagon this late, the more I think about it the more I feel this is the right play.

Unvote nmillar*
Vote Gym

*Yes, I unvote with names. Pussies.

EBWOP: ooooh. now this feels like a bad slip.
avatar
GymHenson: Well that is what I am....should I say fellow player instead?
Well yes, I guess, if you don't want to be seen as LAMIST.
It still would appear as tad bit hypocritical for calling me out while challenging their read more than I did.

avatar
GymHenson: Approx 17 hours, yep.
Cheers.

avatar
ZFR: as PGO and Mafia?
Mafiascum says it is possible but uncommon role for mafia as it is tad too powerful (for giving them 2 kills if mafai manageds to draw PR action).
It could be possible and it shouldn't exanorate him per se so I think GH should be judged mainly on his behaviour but overall it should prolly put him more on town spectrum than mafia-one.

avatar
nmillar: In my case, it's the only way I can clarify why I asked GymHenson about being "bulletproof".
Why did you even ask him then? You even told him not to answer.

Post 104. And what follows.

You guys seriously missed the "moronically moronic" conversation I had with Gym about him asking for a cop investigation??

Oh shit.

Yeah, I'm going to

unvote Catte

and

vote Gym
Oh, there is another page.

And GH admitted to having daychat? Noice.

I actually for once read that. And then I forgot about it.
And it quite changes the "GH claimed to keep town PR away from him" angle.
