It may be a bit of a cultural thing too. Those of us who use the forum regularly know someone might not actually be there even if his light is on, because he may be surfing the forums or left his browser open.

I've seen quick hammers go awry, so I was being honest about L-2 being problematic.
I wanted to be bussed actually, Hijack didn't get it but I was happy you did RW. Primarily because of the amount of doubt that was built on that slot due to his absence. (Felt that would happen eventually so i brought it up preemptively to make them think we cant be on same scum team) Nacho supporting me was something that made this really work.
I kinda pushed RW very badly for the same reason, asked for Inquisitor multiple times, etc. and all this was because of lift tbh especially when he said at one point that cultist is expendable.

Nachomamma8: i was town
i really wish lift gave me the opportunity to talk today.

dedoporno: GG to the cult and Hunter who should be named their MVP for the way he sold RW's spot as not being the CL.
Thank you senpai :)
Was joking about it being Korean btw and "your vote don't matter" part was a joke that I didn't mind being lynched after that :D

If we had lynched Hijack instead of letting him be replaced the game would have been a town victory for sure, that's why I am moving myself into the lynching people that are not actively involved in the game. It's too easy to blame real life when it's actually not being comfortable as scum.

I really don't like such a definitive approach but I have to say I don't like RL excuses, either. If you know you won't be able to play properly stay away from the game and don't ruin it for others. If it's not like this initially be considerate enough to ask for replacement as soon as it becomes obvious.
It probably helped that I was up on the game before I saw my PM. I honestly thought HijacK was probably getting a bum rap somehow from not being present. Both him and Drealmer tend to be common mislynches so I thought there was room to pursue that.

So I read the game as if HijacK really were town and presented my case. I think catching Lift's offer of a draw gave me a particular air of credibility. Being able to add something new to the conversation like that showed I was reading the game as town (even though this time I wasn't). I don't believe most scum would pick up on that.

It gave Lift credibility for sure but it was a nice touch. No matter how I look at it it's always with a tip of the hat to Hunter. My whole D2 mental state was "reason says RW, gut says Hunter" and Hunter managed to make those 2 exclusives to each other. I had the HijacK/Hunter team as a solid feeling early on but the way Hunter took the wheel pushed that so far back it wasn't even a considerable option anymore (along with how Nacho kept emphasizing how townie he sees him).

@RW, I don't mean to undervalue you're play but at the point you entered the game you I was so locked on Hunter that his flip made you a non-factor at all. I had the feeling you'd be cult today, to be honest, but unfortunately we didn't get to look at the cultist options at all :D
That's interesting because when I saw it was HijacK/Hunter my first thought was that was an unlikely combo in a recruitment game. It could happen in a random draw, but it was surprising to see two players who both are often part of any lynch conversation. Another reason I thought bussing made a lot more sense. If it felt odd to me, maybe it would feel odd to someone else too.

I am still curious why he picked me over lift, nacho or trent, perhaps he could answer if he comes around to this thread any time.

Edit: Assuming dedo will be protected for sure

I also thought (as Lift pointed out), recruiting Trent last night was almost a no-brainer. Anyone else was almost a 50/50 chance of Trent bouncing it. I thought of recruiting Dedo for a second (thinking Trent would protect Lift), but just the chance of bouncing plus converting one of the people most skeptical of HijacK made it an obvious choice. That and I was pretty sure I already had Dedo's vote on Nacho...
Good game everyone! I really am headed to a movie now, just left the party.
I was a little surprised no one pointed out how Lift asking for a draw gave him credibility only if I was indeed Town. If I was the CL and had recruited Lift, asking for a draw was potentially damning.....

I actually didn't like that from him in terms of fairplay since I see it as a kind of trying to weasel your way out of defeat. Not sure if Lift had that in mind but still...

Haha which one if you don't mind me asking?

The Great Wall
Overall though, it was a solid game all around. No stellar slips. From observing (on my own, don't know about any observer thread), I couldn't really clear anyone which is how it should be. It was as close as can be.

As to Cult games, I think small games like this is the only way to keep it balanced and less swingy. Seems a pretty fair setup overall.
