Fantasysci5: Yes, can you explain?
If I reveal my target each Day, the CL knows who I'm not likely to target on later Nights. This makes the CL's targeting very easy; follow behind me and pick up free converts. If I don't publish the list, then the CL has to guess whether I'm trying to clear those I tend to trust, whether I'm sorting through those I don't trust, whether I'll just wade through those I think are lurking, or some combination of the above. Regardless, I've got a much better chance of countering his conversion on any given Night.

After a few Nights though, I'll put out my list of names and we can lynch through whoever is left, looking for the CL, while I start cleaning up cultists. If I die one Night, we know for sure the CL is dead, and you guys just need to figure out who got converted. If I don't die, I'll be in a target rich environment, almost certainly nailing a cultist or preventing a conversion every night.

so, JMich, what do you have to say for yourself?

Looks to me like over half the players have twigged to the plan anyway. I knew claiming would mean I only live at the CL's pleasure. In the meantime, RVS is broken, we're not going to waste time on me defending myself from lynch if I say something questionable, the tracker has a smaller pool to pick from, and I'm not going to be accidentally shot by the vig.

Bookwyrm627: ...and I'm not going to be accidentally shot by the vig.
Yeah, because I have two right eyes and both arms are left sided.

Bookwyrm627: ...
This is all assuming that we take your word that you're the DP. Personally, I have my doubts.

docbear1975: Well, I'm still missing it.

Bookwyrm627: The short version is that you should vote JMich.
Well, I realized after I posted what I was missing.

Eh, don't misunderstand, I'm not wholly critical (or even halfway) of how you decided to play it (not how I would have played it, certainly, but it is exciting to see how it will go after such an early claim in this specific setup), at least from the get-go. I do see the advantages, but also some drawbacks as are obvious.

Can you perhaps tell us what you think we should do if you are dead tomorrow?

Here's why I'm choosing to believe Bookwyrm is the DP.

If Bookwyrm was not the DP, then the real DP should have targeted Bookwyrm last night.
1. If Bookwyrm was plain cult, he would have died
2. If Bookwyrm was CL, he would now be neutralized
3. If Bookwyrm is town pretending to be DP, nothing happens to him

Bookwyrm is still alive, so we can rule out #1.

#2 seems like a bad play for a CL. Bookwyrm and his 1-2 cultists, now have to lynch their way to victory while the real DP can still take them out at night (assuming RWarehall and babark were not the real DP). It's possible, but I find it unlikely.

#3 This scenario seems less likely than #2. Lying as town is typically frowned upon because you have to trust town. That's why there is a Lynch All Liars policy. Bookwyrm would be risking our real PR's outing themselves based on his play. I don't see town Bookyrm pulling this stunt.

As JMich often says: ocam's razor - I'm choosing to believe Bookwyrm because it the simplest and straight forward explanation.

Am I 100% percent sure? No. But I'm close enough that I'm comfortable going with it.
I'm pretty dense, but I finally grasp bookwrym's reasons. (I think). If he's not the deprogrammer, he's done an excellent job of manipulating all of us. I want to hear what JMich has to say. At this point, I feel comfortable with where my vote is placed.

I'm going to go with "Realize Power Roles won't save you now, so figure out who the cultists are and lynch them".

On the bright side, deadlines will effectively become a moot point. Unfortunately, everyone is going to need to be active about cultist hunting, or they may still slip through and winning anyway.

drealmer7: what is twigged?
I used it as a synonym for "realized" or "figured out".

From Merriam-Webster: "to understand (something) suddenly".
EBWOP: "or they may still slip through and end up winning anyway."

You're not dense.

This unique setup is the viable strategy at this juncture. Bookwyrm627's thinking is sound.
