A gripping roguelike, horde-survivor game with top-notch graphics – Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel is now available on GOG in its Early Access!

Moreover, you can grab its Founders Edition, Soundtrack, Digital Artbook, and Odin’s Legendary Armor Pack.

Choose one of the damned heroes and attempt to pass the Gods' test by fighting your way through waves of mythical adversaries. If you succeed in all the trials, you will become the chosen Jotunnslayer.

Check it out now!
To whom it may concern.
Looks like one I'll probably try once it's released fully and gets a couple patches!
Still no sign of some popular pretty pixel art survivors (including the original from the category's name) on GOG.
But maybe in full release this one will do a fine job.
Oh neat, another Survivorslike that has "unreadable" as a trait.

Is it just me who simply doesn't understand the appeal of these games? "Move, as shit that incessantly spawns around you in ever increasing numbers runs at you in a straight line, auto-dies, and you occasionally click a thing every arbitrary level up."

Am I missing something here?

I'm a little more annoyed about the lore. There were no Jotuns in Hel, they lived in Jotunheimen. Hel in Norse mythology is not the same as Hell in Christian mythology. In Norse beliefs, when you died, there were several places you could end up, depending on how you died. For example, if you died in battle, you might go to either Fólkvangr or Valhalla. If you died at sea, you might go to Nóatún. Hel was the place where people who died peacefully (at home, of illness, or just from old age etc) would go. And it wasn’t some torturous afterlife. It was basically a continuation of life in a different form. People would farm, hunt, fish, and spend time together there. Hel as a grim place came later, and is very much ins[ired by Christian Hell, or Greek mythological Tartarus. Norse mythology did have a place the most wicked people could end up, but it was called Náströnd, and it was placed somewhere within Hel.

In any case, there were never Jotuns in Hel.

Maybe it's the grind which varies by game.
Like with musou games, the same argument can be made.
Is it nonsensical? Maybe but its lots of fun.

Myself puzzled about the popularity of the Norse mythology. Like, Vikings everywhere nowadays. How did it enter the pop culture, comics?

Anyway, I very much like the Mad Max franchise take on it (and on all other remnants of the past), like:

This looks nice, reminds me of Diablo II series. Though I don't know about the endless part, cause I sure hope each stage has a way to clear it or it can be mentally draining for people like me.

I don't know how lengthy the game is, but the price point is great and it looks like quite a bit of replayability.

Wishlisted for now, at least until I get to see some starting gameplay vids. The wording endless it a bit troublesome for me. =P

There's a target audience for any genre. If you don't like it, don't buy it. Just like me, not buying any "souls-like" game anymore...

I had some great hours with Army of Ruin and Karate Survivor and I think I'll get this one too. Those games go heavy on the reward system of the brain and I like that :)

It is a Vampire-Survivors- like, not a Diablo-like.
I'm in a 4x intensive period, and my action game of choice are those, for a change of pace. I have it on steam.
It's pretty cool for a a game of the genre. Quite more ressource hungry, than the pixel ones. I also don't mind to play early access games. I can see the progress, I know the game is incomplete, and I can deal with it.
Quite weird for a gamer, but I like RNG, and this genre fills that itch.
Damn this looks great! I'll definitely keep an eye on it!

With "Death must Die" hopefully making its way to gog, too at some point in the future, I might just have a reason to dive into the genre ;)
