The classic game remastered. Feel the power of flying a 10-men crew on a B-17 over occupied Europe in WWII…

B-17 Flying Fortress : The Mighty 8th Redux is now available on GOG in its early access!

The missions undertaken by the crews of B-17 bombers during World War II are the stuff of legend. What was it like to fly through relentless anti-aircraft fire over Nazi-occupied Europe? What was it like to have a thin layer of steel between life and death at 15,000 feet? How did it feel to furiously fend off enemy fighters zipping around your plane and then to precisely deliver your payload over enemy targets?

Find out for yourself as you lead a 10-man crew to victory (or defeat) in the remastered version of this action-adventure flight simulator.

Check out everything that the early access of B-17 Flying Fortress : The Mighty 8th Redux offers and take the flight!

Note: This title is currently in development. See the FAQ to learn more about games in development, and check out the forums to find more information and to stay in touch with the community.

Yes and No!!!!!

Yes because I was willing to see this game in GOG. I had a little hope. Thanks.

No because I have to study a lot now and I didn't want to purchase a game right now....

... but I just did with this one.

B-17 Flying Fortress: The Mighty 8th - the original version - already IS in the catalogue. It still looks good enough. Maybe a remaster of "B-17 Flying Fortress: Bombers in Action" would make more sense...

Correct:

https://www.gog.com/en/game/b_17_flying_fortress_the_mighty_8th (the original)
vs
https://www.gog.com/game/b17_flying_fortress_the_mighty_8th_redux?source=news (the remaster)
Great to see more MicroProse stuff here, but there's a pretty huge amount of their catalogue absence. Hoping that will change soon.
Be sure to purchase the original..if you want it...in case it vanishes!

YES!!!!

Maybe this means the new B-17 game will release on GOG!?

But...

... will we see other Microprose EA games like SECOND FRONT and BOAT CREW that have released elsewhere!??!

Sure hope GOG becomes a certainty for Microprose releases (even EA)

Regarding B-17 REDUX...

... from what I've seen...

... this is a loving update of the original. I'm quite impressed.

The only thing I would like to see (that some might not) is some improved variation on sky boxes.

It happened to me too. Galaxy downloaded it after several failed attemps a couple of hours ago. Now I can download it too from the website, few hours ago it was impossible.

According to page developers on a Vapour store will remain:
"The original game will remain available on Steam. It serves as a time capsule of how the original B17: The Mighty 8th game was when it was first released."

That's good to know....When Shadow Man remastered came out the original vanished so I was not able to experience that one.
It's nice to see a remaster being brought out without the need to get rid of the original.
