A Dungeon of Love for Valentine’s Day from GOG.com and EA!

Today of all days, a good part of the world celebrates love in all shapes, sizes, and flavors. For us at GOG.com, there is no greater love than the love of classic PC games. We love them, you love them, and you know what? We love you as well! So we decided to celebrate Valentine’s Day by partnering up with our friends at Electronic Arts to offer you an exclusive Dungeon Keeper promotion:

For the next 48 hours Dungeon Keeper Gold (complete with the Deeper Dungeons expansion) can be added to your GOG.com account for free! If you already own it on GOG.com, you can still get one extra gift-code for the game and present it to your significant other gamer, or a friend.

Spend time quality time protecting your Dungeon Heart from invaders and experience this classic series first hand. Further, the excellent sequel, Dungeon Keeper 2, is available for only $1.49 as a part of our special Valentine's Day promo. The offer lasts until Sunday, February 16, at 10:59AM GMT.

Would you rather storm and loot dungeons rather than protect them? Our special Destination: Dungeons & Dragons promo has you covered with a great collection of RPG classics up to 80% off!

Punished_Snake: I "bought" it (DK1) but the game isn't in my library, but I can't purchase it anymore, it says "Enjoy your game"?
avatar
TheEnigmaticT: After you bought, it should have taken you to this page: http://www.gog.com/2014_dk_giveaway/thanks

Whereby we explain that in order to keep from crashing the site (again...) we're sending orders to you as fast as we can comfortably process them. :)
Just received it (not a key, simply the game showed in my account, and I received the purchase receipt).

s23021536: Btw how is DKII fairing on 64bit win7 systems these days?
Works fine for me so far, but check the Dungeon Keeper sub forum.

The game used to have problems specifically with ATI/AMD graphics hardware (and working better with NVidia), but it seems the ATI issues are fixed now. At least for me they are.

F1ach: Thanks Thespian (+1) yes I read it but got only an email for DK2, I was just going on record to say I didn't get it, as feedback and just in case there was an issue later, if it didn't come through :)

Thanks again :)
I suppose you'll receive the email sooner or later.

If you don't have the game next Monday (I'm offline during weekends), please PM me and I'll send you the key I got with the purpose of gifting it in the future. ;)

Johnmourby: Okay. I had no interest in this game. But now it's free. Somebody sell me on this.
It's a game that's basically an inversion of the classic dungeon-crawler style of RPGs. Instead of playing some sort of great hero entering a domain of evil to slay all the monsters, demons and warlocks, you are the one who builds and maintains the dungeon. You use your imps to dig out hallways and rooms. You have them mine for gold. You try to attract as many monstrosities as possible, so they will fight and/or work for you. You set up various nasty traps. You defend your domain from heroes in shining armour that try to invade. You can also imprison and torture those heroes. You do this, basically, until you've conquered the entire world.

Gameplay-wise, it's real-time strategy, with the interesting twist that you do not have direct control over your units (or rather "minions"). For example, your imps act pretty much on their own, you only have to determine where you want them to dig and they'll do the rest. Your other monsters will go about their day (eating, working, sleeping, etc.) on their own as well and will attack any enemies that are in their vicinity. Additionally, though, you can literally pick them up and throw them at those pesky goody two-shoes to start a good old battle or just slap them so they'll work faster.

It was an extremely innovative title in its day (and really, it still is one today), has a great atmosphere and a brilliant sense of humour.

If this isn't enough, take a look at this brilliant teaser for the second game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgQYaE2kfxs

Crazy, isn't it?
Domo arigato for the free game GOG! :)

That's very kind of you mate, I have DK2 as a disc and enjoyed it, so its nice to have a back up here, I only wanted the DK1 more out of curiosity than anything else, so this was an opportunity to try it, so I wont be too cut up if I don't get it, so save the key for a more appropriate and appreciative giftee than me.

Thanks again :)

Great thanks!!
Nice move!:)
Thanks! =)
I'm tempted by Spellforce 2, but it's not complete!
If I buy it now, will it be upgraded to gold\platinum in the future or what?

Is Arma series any good? Game 1 or 2?

P.S: great promos as usual GOG, thanks!

EDIT: unnecessary part removed

Not to be "that guy", but you misspelled "Dungeon" in that link:
You'll get your game soon! Minion, due to high demand, we will tell you when your free copy of Dungon Keeper is ready via email in a little bit.

*edit*
Oh and also, thanks. I never played DK1, but loved the hell out of DK2 <3
