Lifthrasil: This is great news indeed! Let's hope it really is fixed!
I have already found a friend who owns at least the base game and who I know personally. I asked him to test and now I am waiting for his reply ... we should get a definitive answer pretty soon.

Syphon72: Edit: Make sure to update the reviews if it's true.
Sure - will contact support the moment this has been confirmed and will ask them to remove mine. I will always critizise what have to be critizised but I will also always be fair and if the issue has been removed a bad review simply is not valid anymore and should be removed or changed.

DJM.553: Regarding the DLC scallops, I was refunded, so to this day I do not know if this is corrected or not.
I read this - otherwise I would have contacted you first after I was told that it has been fixed .... I mean if this is in fact fixed (still waiting for final confirmation as said) you might even want to buy it again. Let's all just hope.

And for the record: I never thought that you would want to harm GOG - you stated that you had this issue when you puchased the game and GOG support also did never say that the issue never existed - only that it should be fixed now. Something you could not have known since you were refunded back then, :)

Nice, thank you and lifthrasil keeping on top of it!

DJM.553: Another one, Starsand cannot be played on an offline PC.
The new game and load game icons are grayed out and not clickable.

My pc game being offline permanent it's unstoppable.
Yes, GoG is informed and the answer is "be patient".

The developer is paid
GoG is paid
I have to be patient.
And you think my goal is to harm GoG.

Thanks for the screenshot. Can you tell us when you informed GOG? I guess you created a support ticket?
I wanted to try the Scallops DLC and honestly I have no clue if it works or not.

I downloaded the offline installer for both the game and the DLC, installed both on an offline PC with no Galaxy installed.

The DLC is in the game install folder, but when I start the game I have the "buy Scallops DLC" button. I can start a new career but I have no idea if the DLC is recognized / working or not. I am tempted to install the game via Galaxy on another partition to see if it behave differently or not.

Do you remember if there is any easy way to check if the DLC is recognized / enabled or not ?

Also I can confirm Starsand is also not working for me offline or even online without using Galaxy.

Ok I played a little more with Fishing and it seem only "partially" fixed. It works offline... but needs Galaxy to be running.

As I mention in the previous post if I install the game offline without Galaxy and start it the Scallops DLC won't be recognized or enabled. (i.e. scallops don't appear in the in-game Wiki list of available fish)

If I start the game offline but with Galaxy started and running in the background then the DLC will be recognized and Scallops will appear in the game internal Wiki and I can purchase tips on scallops at the bar.

So yes it seems the "usual" bug that some games had where the DLC are not correctly activated / registered if Galaxy is not running; so the issue is still not fully fixed.

Good and bad news. Are you going to contact them again?

I know.
My remarks were addressed to "Syphon72".
The date of the refund is June 6, 2022.

The easy way: Search Old Ben (name's boat) in Yarmouth.
Perhaps, it will simplify things for you, for future tests.

Thanks for tests.
That's bad news about Starsand. But thank you for bringing it to my attention. I'll put Starsand on the list, but hope that the dev will fix it eventually.

And thank you for checking the Scallops extension, Gersen. So it has no online DRM anymore, but still depends on Galaxy. Which is still bad.

Thank you for the info. Now it's easy to test as it will refuse to load my saves if the DLC is not enabled...

I didn't contact them before, but now I have created a ticket (after a very long chat with the bot...)

Thanks @Gersen for testing Fishing and Starsand. As I am already in contact with support I will forward these new information as well even though you already created a ticket. The last time I got a reply pretty fast, let's hope this time it will be the same :)

For starsand it is lies what is said above. The game is drm free. I dl the offline setup 0.8 which is the latest version on the website. Installed the game without galaxy. The game launches and plays without galaxy or connection.
high rated
GOG support really should get into the habit of what I suggested in my ticket: Every offline installer should be air-gapped to a computer that's never had a network connection or Galaxy to verify it works properly there. Any failings indicate issues very clearly.

Sadly, it's pretty obvious they only test via Galaxy and while online.

I tried with "setup_starsand_0.8.0_(56103)" when launching the game offline the two top button "new game" and "continue game" are grayed and don't react. Did you try to start a new game or just reach the main menu ?

To be honest it is not very easy for Fishing to know if the DLC is actually active or not, if you install the game and the DLC offline everything will seems to work fine, you will need to dig a little deeper to discover that the DLC is actually disabled if Galaxy is not running. But still this should be part of their standard QA checks.
