Very unforgiving game, but it's very memorable too and those heads have got to be one of the best common foes I've encountered anywhere.

I've only played 3 though and it's not that one because he's human in the picture, I'm gonna go Wonder Boy 2.

It's close enough that I'll give it to you, it is 3 - the Dragon's Trap. I can see where you're coming from with the human thing, he's human at the first/last bosses though, probably a bit evil of me not to draw him as a mouse or something.
