Okay, seeing this (see attachement), I downloaded the 1st and 2nd files. Turned out, the 1st file's name is "setup_prison_architect_64_12b_(13214)_(g).exe" and the 2nd file's name is "setup_prison_architect_32_12b_(13214)_(g).exe"... So, for my 64bit system I needed the 1st one only? And why is there an extra 12b installer (3rd file)? And than the 12b patch?! Is this for 12b or is this it it an update to 12b? File name is "patch_prison_architect_12a_(12928)_to_12b_(13214).exe" which indicates the later. But 12928 to 13214 - what has this to do with anything? Is this the nomenclature by the devs?

Pls, put unambiguous labels on these things that correspond with the file names!


Yeah, a after installing this, apparently my GOG Galaxy needs updating - which I never installed!

I have been confused by the file names too every now and then. It certainly could be a lot clearer. Not having that particular game, I cannot help you with which is which of those BUT I can tell you that clicking on MORE and then on Classic Installers you can get Galaxy free installers.

You'd need the first file, but from your screenie, it would seem you need both part 1 and part 2. The other is for the 32 bit version. But it looks like there may be an error on the page, because it looks like the 32 bit installer is actually labelled as Part 2 of 2 on the page as well (judging from what you've written). Yeah, I do wish they had a better labelling system. Yeah, the non-Galaxy-laden installers are actually hidden under More (and are called Classic Installers) in your game library. The key is if it ends with (g), the files contain Galaxy, which is flagged to install by default. You can change that by going into Options when you start the installation. It's hidden, on by default, and is a dubious choice on GOG's part, IMO.

Unfortunately, you did. As you can read at the bottom of your image, you downloaded an installer which contains galaxy and by not unchecking it during installation, it was installed automatically. By clicking on "more" you could have switched to "classic" installers without Galaxy, but if you didn't know about this... well let's say it caused quite a bit of a turmoil here in the forums when it was introduced.

Well, thank you all for your help. I wasn't aware where to find the "classic" installers. Actually, I wasn't aware there were non-"classic" installers. As I do not use Galaxy, it does not make any sense to me: I thought the point of Galaxy was that you do not have to download installers manually?

This is so people who find it too difficult to find/install Galaxy get it done for them...

Okay, I think I am starting to see the underlying problem now.
