Back to talking about Double Dragon... I recommend the following project to friends:

https://www.youtube.com/@mauherrera8939/featured

Ultimate Double Dragon is in development and you can check it out through a demo. Before the UDD project, there was another project: Legend Of The Double Dragon. LDD is finished, is a great way to have fun beyond the UDD demo.

Both games can be found here: https://openborgx.wordpress.com/

Before anyone raises the flag in favor of the DMCA and says loud and clear that this is piracy, please know that it is not! It's just a fan game, a tribute to the original SNES title, a title that is no longer sold and for a long time forgotten by its original creators.

Regarding the donation, it is completely voluntary, and serves only as an incentive for the developer who dedicated months of his life to recoding all the sprites; remembering: it's all free!

And here is a great review about LDD: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_W7BKo-XC0

Enjoy!

SilentMRG: You do not have to thank me! I make disclosures like this out of pure admiration for these developers who do a better job than the company that owns the copyright, who often forget their products and when they remember, most of the time they release garbage. Double Dragon IV is a great example!
No problem, its my pleasure thank you: This is not the first time you spend time sharing nice vgames on this forum
Please keep it up!

And long life and my admiration too to all those talented and generous incredible fan developers!

Happy holidays!

Thanks for the words... But unfortunately, some people still don't understand what a fan games actually is, and how they work. I will continue to promote fan games whenever they are of quality.

Stay tuned! And happy holidays to you too! =D

Unfortunately nor do many publishers, who mistake a work of love by fans with IP infringement... certainly there are some that do take it as a compliment of sorts, and then there's 910DO :P.

OpenBOR sure has turned out to be a gift that keeps on giving :)... I remember the days when it was still in its infancy, back in 2007-2008 IIRC. Nice to see it turned out as a platform for so many good fan spinoffs and adaptations.

Yes, you hit the spot! That's exactly how it happens.

I got to know OpenBOR on PS2, in 2011, through a Resident Evil module. XD The OpenBOR scene has everything to grow and it's growing slowly, I believe that there will come a day when big companies use the engine to produce new commercial games or even remake existing ones.

In the meantime... I'll keep spreading the word!

A lot of fans mistake IP infringement with "fair use" (which only applies in a few locales). Not saying thats whats the case is here, but it often is when a gamer comes up with a comment such as yours.

As I said before it's all up to the IP holder's interpretation - if they want to pursue legal action, it's fully within their rights. Going after a hardcore fan doing a spinoff in his basement as a hobby won't win them any brownie points tho', just saying...

Correct and true - but also something that happens.
There's something magical about dragon games that I just can't resist. Maybe it's the thrill of soaring through the skies on the back of a majestic creature, or maybe it's the rush of battling fierce foes and emerging victorious.
