After seeing some news about Humble Bundle now accepting charity donations you choose (on the store page only so far) I got to wonder what's the more worthwhile ones [related to universal computer usage and similar projects] and here is what I came up with:
FSF (Free Software Foundation)
EFF (Electronic Frontier Foundation)
Wikimedia Foundation (Wikipedia)
There's maybe more (I hope there is and if so tell me I'll list them) but even at that it's only less than 10% of your purchase price that they get and at that paypal has the option to refuse to pay them(read the fine print), so my point is has anybody ever thought of just buying games on sale(on gog for example) and just donate a similar (or more) of the savings to projects like these or others that are in need of support? I understand not everybody is up for donating money to just anything but with the ability to choose shouldn't we find the projects that really are making life easier and better? (Examples like, the Debian project or Libreoffice or VLC,etc)
This is just me thinking on things, anybody got a similar/worthwhile thought on the matter?
