FINAL EDIT: This was a really bad idea. Forget it was ever here.

I'm wary.

I like that GOG supports what they sell. A few of GOG's competitors offer broken downloads or games fairly often, and then point you at the developer when you're stuck. If you're lucky, you'll get a fix for your problem. If you're lucky.

What I'm saying is that GOG purchases don't typically make me angry. And I'd like the situation to remain so. I don't want to see GOG selling dodgy games with a disclaimer.

Unsure how I feel about GOG selling potentially broken crap provided that they fully support it. Tolerant, yet impatient?

edit:
That said, I certainly see some DRM-free games elsewhere that I'd prefer to purchase here. I hope you find my wishy-washy opinion helpful!

no

This would be dragging their good name through the dirt. Seriously, try itch.io.
As much as i'd like to see some of those rejected games here - i'm against a non-curated section. That would be similar to the opening of the floodgates what Steam did which resulted in publishers releasing broken trash there....
Not to mention the implications of such a section regarding support and possible refunds....
Is this just to save lazy people the hassle of buying stuff from multiple sites, or is there some other benefit I'm not seeing?
Where's the "hell no" button?

There are plenty of places to get my slapped-together RPG maker games, "exciting retro" 2D platformers, and stock Unity asset piles of trash already.
It's not just a no, it's a OH HELL NOOOOOOOOOOOOO

It's bad enough already with all these people going "Oh, I downloaded this but I didn't get a Steam Key - where's my refund?!?!"

Let's keep some control.
To those who are against this idea, let's get some more ideas going! How would you solve GOG's issue of rejecting games that should be here? I would love to hear your suggestions, because this issue has really been frustrating me lately. I don't care if the solution is mine or not, I just want there to be a solution that works consistently.

Also, please don't mention the Community Wishlist in its current state. As The Consuming Shadow has shown, getting a ton of votes doesn't reliably mean getting a game released here, and even if it did the system is fundamentally flawed in many ways, especially in that games that aren't already well-known don't stand a chance. Suggestions on how to fix the Community Wishlist are welcome, however.

There's no need to. GOG run the store. GOG can decide what they want to sell. If they don't sell what you want you can ask them to consider it, or take your dollars to somewhere that does.

EG GOG don't sell Huniepop (yet) - go to Mangagamer or Humble or Steam
GOG don't sell Hatred - go get it from the developer's website or Steam
GOG don't sell Command & Conquer - get it from Origin or hunt down a physical copy of The First Decade

etc etc etc

No, never, terrible idea.

Have you seen what has happened to steam? It's like a garbage dump you have to swim through to find the few good games.
All the indie games that DO appear on steam can't be distinguished at first sight from all the crap from lousy devs, lazy devs and scammers.

I've seen several posts raising this concern, but how would that be an issue if it's all confined to a separate store section? Users who want only curated games would never see the non-curated ones.
I'd love to see an adult section for erotic/eroge games; But uncurated... no... If what i saw 6 months ago and have seen on steam since they let crap hit the store front with shovelware on a daily basis is, i certainly don't want to see that here.

To quote the guy above me: "Have you seen what has happened to steam? It's like a garbage dump you have to swim through to find the few good games. "
I won't vote but I certainly agree they should be more open, especially to fully-finished games where they don't necessarily have to worry about getting patches here.
