So here's my opinion: Honestly, this should have been expected. It's [EXPLETIVE DELETED] POSTAL. They're like Southpark if you remove any semblance of insightful social commentary and crank everything else up to 11, while removing anything resembling charm.
So what if one irrelevant gaming site got a bit huffy? (Seriously, never heard of the site until I looked online.)

On the other hand, I feel GOG may have done ill in choosing to trust the Postal devs/their (own) marketing guy to make this announcement and they should have gone for a more minimalist approach. I feel that if anyone cared, they'd be able to find this expansion on their own though the typical means. Like we don't need gimmicks to know you got a new game? (I realize, this is the same site that faked death back in 2010.)

TL;DR: People making a story out of this are a buncha snowflakes. Let them have their urination contest, I have better things to do like watch Lupin III or look at pretty pictures from Idolmaster.

Personally, my irreverent, ultra violent, and cathartic game of choice is Carmageddon, because it's a dumb game that doesn't take itself seriously.

This is SOP at GOG. Do something ill-considered, backtrack, wipe egg off of face, rinse and repeat as necessary. So yeah, be worried! ;p

I've heard a lot of talk from people mad about the retraction, speaking for "the gamers."

I've been playing computer games for 35 years. When my fiancee (now my wife of 18 years) asked me why I spent so much time playing computer games, I told her "This is what I do instead of watching TV." The first game I bought on GOG was TOCA3 back in 2009, and while I'm sure 129 games in my GOG library is not anywhere near a record, I think it should establish me as someone whose first dealing ever with GOG wasn't to complain about this tweet.

I am one of those "fools who complained." I sent a note to support, with a reminder that I am a long-time customer, expressing my disappointment that they were throwing in with GG. I was satisfied with their response, and I said so when Zendesk sent me a survey.

I have absolutely no idea how many other customers like me complained. As far as I know, I could be the only one. Then again, as far as anyone else know, there were hundreds.

So, maybe this was a better business decision than you think.

I would imagine the bulk of the people trolling and spamming, yes trolling and spamming, with their tantrums and boycott threats are of a decidedly younger age bracket than the majority of those who are pleased and or just don't care.

Oddly enough, one of the funniest, most memorable gaming moments I remember is in the original Postal. If you hit someone with a grenade, they'd be tossed in the air and unable to respond until they hit the ground. If you timed it just right (a little easier than I'm making it sound here) you could hit them with another grenade just as they hit the ground. I'm sure I didn't keep juggling my friend as long as I seem to remember it, but we were all dying laughing.

I will no longer support Gog. I suppose I have all the "good old games" I want on my account anyways, but this will be the last place I buy a game now as I refuse to support a platform that actively hates its customers and kisses up to corrupt politically driven gaming media. It's a sad day for pc gaming.

The seriousest. Vídeo games are serious business, don't fuck with people whose primary identity in life is with video games.

Since this is still going on ( I said all I could for a while and then left to try to do other stuff and go have our Friday horror movie night with some friends as usual ) I'd like to suggest action instead of just arguing with people on the forums that are more than likely just hanging around these threads just to argue and try to make those concerned to be completely out of it.

Actions are louder than the same words over and over on a topic and in some ways chasing some folks off from posting thoughts and concerns about when a new game is introduced to the site and needs something fixed... or just want to express their happiness for the game coming to the site.

The threads are just giving ammo. If you don't agree with something, send e-mails and comments when on social media. This isn't meant to drag people in to choose sides.


When we start seeing other signs like GOG blocking people and such, we'll know just what stage this is at and where to go from there. Right now there isn't anything quite illegal ( shitty, but not illegal ) happening.
