Anyone else noticed their reviews just "quietly disappearing" recently? Over the past 12 months or so in fact.

I have had at least 8 that I know of. Most were critical 1-star reviews, but not all, I've had some 4 and 5-star praising reviews vanish too. Some had a little colourful language, but so do thousands of others I see that are not "disappearing".
Some made criticism of the behaviour of developers, but surely that is no reason for "censorship"?
By way of comparison I have not had this happen anywhere else, not even once.

All have been reviews written during 2020/21 AFAIK - one I wrote only a few days ago has disappeared already!

Reviews for "Imperium Galactica", "Nexus The Jupiter Incident", "Perimeter", "Perimeter - Emporer's Testament", "Master of Orion 3", "Lords of Xulima", "Earth 2160" are but some reviews I know have just gone up in smoke! Some I believe have done so more than just the once!

I have had NO notifications from any GOG moderation staff about it.

So what's going on GOG? And, anyone from GOG, if you're reading, while you're at it, can you please please please finally get around to updating your review page UIs? Add the ability to edit and organise them at the very least for the love of God!

GOG's just trying a little healthy communist media manipulation for old time's sake, don't answer the door to any monks for the forseeable future!

Lol! Great film that..... also brings memories of Saints Row 4
It happened to me as well. I wasn't using foul language nor was I trashing the games at all. Maybe we know too much. They don't want us to talk.

GOG has not deleted your reviews! You wrote one for Lords of Xulima Deluxe Edition

Pay attention which version you are writing a review for. When there is more than one and you are writing a review for a deluxe edition, it will not be displayed underneath the Standard version and vice versa.

Reviews for other games you mentioned you have written also still there. If you still can't see them I would advise you to take a look at the options to the right of the review section: Written in ... Written by and Added Uncheck any boxes in case they are ticked and you should be able to see them.

Yeah i've noticed how you were praising Earth 2160 and then it was another review which said it was deleted and there is no trace of your previous review on earth 2160 game.
I occasionally check reviews for some games the earth 21xx series is one of them.

No, I didn't notice any change during the last 12 months. Older reviews are being removed for years now.

Reviews going way back to GOG's origins are still there, dated as far back as the naughties.

You're right about "LOX Deluxe Edition" there - but as you can see, it did happen once already with that, but that second review has stuck. As for the others, they are the only versions. They don't have "Deluxe" or "Season's Pass" or whatever separate from the basic game. AFAIK at this very moment anyway - I might find I'm wrong in a few minutes when I look again!

Nah, I'm right. Looking at the negrepping already with some I rewrote for the second, even third, time yesterday, it is probably a case of butthurt fanbois and shills mashing the report button that's an issue.

I think I might stick to doing reviews on Metacritic or Steam - even though Steam is full of shit reviews like "oik oik", "big robot go oooo", "is lit", "is gaem", "gud", "." etc. At least Steam don't do this rep bullshit, allow you organise and find your reviews easy, block morons from commenting, edit your reviews to correct mistakes or if you change your mind about game etc. GOG's absoulute turd of a review system allows none of it - and GOG are just NOT listening to our requests and suggestions to improve it.

Well, some of my old ones have been gone and that happened more than a year ago so I still say: no, it's nothing new.

Just because some old reviews are still there does not mean others have been taken off. So, I will certainly take your word for it!
I am not surprised such things have been going on all along. Again, my guess is "cancellation of review I don't like/agree with by using the report button" is, and always has, been an issue.
I find it a little hard to believe Gog Staff know how to use their own website tools? ;)

Whatever the reason is, that is most likely not it. Because some of my laudatios on adventure games are gone, I don't think they would actually delete "good" reviews.

And who knows? Maybe all our theories are bonkers and they have a problem with the database.
