Hatoful Boyfriend...
I don't think I need to explain.

mistermumbles: Realms of Arkania 1-3... I'm too old for that hardcore RPG stuff. I just want to have fun, damn it! =P
I tried Realms of Arkania but I just didn't have the time. Time is my problem between working, a kid, a wife and a house it hard to invest time into a game. Not really sure I would call it intimidating.

Nirth: Try this!
Thanks. I'll give it a try I think, because for me the game is more about the aesthetics than the challenge. I think my problem with the game is more "What the hell am I supposed to do?!". I would need kind of a step-by-step walkthrough for the first cycle that gives me a good (at least not dying start) for the second one - just so that I can grasp the concept of the game. I considered checking out some "let's play" but the time, the time...

MMORPG in general. I can't play a game if I can't have an approximate estimation of the number of hours I need to complete it. An endless game intimidates me more than a date with Miley Cyrus !
Well at first I was intimidated by Warcraft 3 Single Player campaign and have only used cheats (Even on Normal Mode). But as of today I have managed to beat the Human, Undead, and Orc campaigns without Cheats and continuing on with the Night Elves and then Frozen Throne.

However I am intimidated by Fallout 2 because I have no choice but to play that game on the easiest setting because the first hours are BRUTAL.

And the Ultima games.
I want to play EVE Online, but I'm scared of the time I have to invest on it, people says it's like 8 hours per day job :(

I tried some let's plays but it was easier trying to figure it out yourself. While I like a challenge the problem with that game is that you can sort of put yourself into a event horizon and afterwards, it's only a matter of time before you die and have to restart and I have never enjoyed that device to increase difficulty.

Crewdroog: super meat boy. i am terrible at platformers, and I understand this one is insane.
You can try I Wanna Be The Guy after that you'll think Super Meat Boy is very relaxing, joyful and easy.... :)

Fallout 2 is still quite challenging on easy difficulty so I wouldn't be too embarrassed about that. I play it on easy every time. To hell with difficulty lol

Especially on in RPG? Have they forgotten the point of a level up system?
Cossacks and Knights and Merchants. To an extent Independence War.
I literally seize up whenever I try to play AI Wars. Just WAYYYY too much for me to try to take in.
Intimidated? No.
But definitely turned off.
I've started up games and after a couple of minutes been like "Oh shoot no, this is too much like work." and quit.
By avoiding games that look like spreadsheets I've managed to avoid several of those, but like other people I also got suckered in by AI War which seemed great until I actually started it and the UI was a bunch of tiny windows with even tinier text.
So I see where you're coming from.

Be glad you never tried Imperium. One of the most dry, information overkilling, excessively micro-managing - and fascinating - games I've ever played.
King of Dragon Pass. And Blackguards. I feel like I need to read the manual in order to be able to play them and I hate reading manuals.
