Youtube comments are like a sponge for dumbness. If you dare use it somehow, at least some dumbness will rub off on you. So I think you were not right in replying since it has doubtlessly made you dumber somehow.

All I did was simply point out the abundance of ads in a video:

Me - really milking it with all those ads in a single vid huh?
In which someone politely replied:

Them - Bitch shut the fuck up and go back to school.

Me - Very clever. Are there any words left in your vocabulary after that big sentence?
I've yet to receive a response. Maybe they got lost?
Another replies in what seems to be their own version of English:

Me - I think you should take Toxic's advice and go back to school :) But considering you're still finding 'yo mama' jokes hilarious; I'm guessing you're still on your way.

So, were my responses adequate? Could I have done better in defending my hard fought comment about too many ads? What should I do? Should I stop interacting on YouTube so I don't become brain dead?? Are you just as bored as me, so you decided to continue reading until you found something interesting???

Should Kingbradley stop telling everyone he pirates games? Should TinyE hijack my thread with random yet hilarious comments? Should I donate a game that's within reasonable limits to Sachys for their next giveaway to make up for this ridiculous thread? (sorry if I spelt names wrong!)
The original posts were extremely inappropriate. I actually once had one person who seemed nice suddenly use a "your mother" joke on me and that did set me off. (Incidentally, this person turned out to be a creationist; knowing what I do now about myself, I don't think we could get along.)

Youtube comments are something you might want to avoid, as I hear they are pretty bad. If you stick to 2D gaming videos, they don't seem too bad, however.

One other things: Don't read the comments on LGBT related articles. *Especially* don't read the comments on any article about transgender people; some of them say very vile things. (This includes, but is definitely not limited to, articles about Caitlyn Jenner.)

People can be some very hateful, spiteful persons at times. Most of the time it is because they themselves were hurt. Ignorance always gets in the way of tolerance and that's just how things work, no matter how others' try to push it forward faster.

There are times when ignorance is bliss, there are other times when messes up someone else's utopia. What we all need to understand is that there is a beginning and an end of the short dance we have on this god forsaken mud ball called earth, we should be making the best of it even with the worst of us.

Besides all that, we recently buzzed Pluto, their guard is probably going to come and exterminate us all. Have a nice day!

There are also times when ignorance causes massive suffering. Young people need role models who are like them, and having someone publicly come out can make a huge difference.
