How is everyone going with the kickstarted games they backed a long time ago?

I've backed a total of 18 games. 14 of which have been delivered.

The ones that haven't yet been delivered are:

Two Guys Spaceventure (estimated delivery - February 2013, last update April 2018)

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/spaceventure/two-guys-spaceventure-by-the-creators-of-space-que

Mage's Initiation (estimated delivery - February 2014, last update February 2018)

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2112639455/mages-initiation-a-classic-sierra-style-adventure

Legend of Iya (estimated delivery November 2014, last update October 2017)

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/523651724/legend-of-iya

The Bard's Tale IV (estimated delivery October 2017, last update July 2018)

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/inxile/the-bards-tale-iv

Of those games, the only one I really think won't be delivered is Legend of Iya, but I knew that one was going to be very risky when I backed it. All in all, I am pretty happy with all of the games I backed.

How about you guys, are you waiting on many games that are way overdue? If so, which ones? Do you think they will actually arrive?
I have backed 17 projects on Kickstarter, beginning way back when with Project Eternity.

6 have been completed and delivered - 1 of these substantially downscaled the project. It is still in development, so maybe someday it will reach its originally planned scope, but I have my doubts. At least we have been delivered something.
6 were either cancelled or unsuccessful - so I was never charged
3 are still in process and not yet delayed
1 is still going but is substantially delayed
1 failed - Successfully funded, in production, delayed, then kaput

I have backed 2 projects on Fig
2 have been successfully funded and are still in development and have not been delayed

The most recent project I backed has been Xenonauts 2, which just funded a couple weeks ago.
I have been fairly lucky i feel and have kickstarted around 15 games, most have gone fairly smoothly like DOS 1 and 2, Pillars of Eternity 1.

A few games such as:

Battletech still misses some content that will release in time, it also lacks Linux version still despite being originally promised at launch but it's on their roadmap so probably just a matter of time but i have both a Windows and Linux PC so i can wait.

Pillars of Eternity 2 Deadfire has delayed physical rewards, even longer for EU it seems than America and South America.

The Bards Tale IV Barrows Deep hasn't shipped it physical rewards like you mentioned.

Wasteland 3 is still ways off but InXile being InXile so it wouldn't surprise me if it gets delayed once or twice.

I do have a few rules, i don't support Japanese kickstarters or Asian in general even though i like their games because way too many gets messed up one way or another it seems.
I do not support complete unknown creators either which is no guarantee for success by any means but it lowers the risks i feel.

So far I've backed:

Broken Sword 5: The Serpent's Curse: It isn't the best of the series but was still worth the risk. The physical rewards were top notch too. When people complained about getting a steam version on the physical discs the developers sent out a second set of discs with the GoG version.

Pillars of Eternity: Worth every penny. If you're looking for a solid isometric game this is it. If you're looking for a challenge more engaging than memorizing patterns (like Dark Souls) then is it. The physical rewards are solid as well.

Pillars of Eternity 2: Have it. Haven't played it yet. What little I've seen strongly suggests it will be a worthy successor to the original. No physical rewards yet so that's a downer. However, I still have faith Obsidian will deliver.

Wasteland 2: The game - Woo Hoo!. The physical rewards - meh. If you're into turn based combat and are looking for a dirtier and nastier post apocalyptic work that Fallout has been lately than Wasteland 2 can deliver.

Underworld Ascension: It isn't out yet but the team is solid. They are made up of a number of industry vets including member of the Ultima Underworld team Ascension is the successor to. No worries yet.

Bard's Tale 4: My only real worry here is the combat. Both Bard's Tale 4 and Legend of Grimrock use of variation of the original Bard's Tale interface and I really didn't like Legend of Grimrock at all. Hopefully I'm wrong but I think I should have given this one more thought.

Wasteland 3: This one isn't out yet but I expect it will be just as good as Wasteland 2.

Dreamfall Chapters: The game is fantastic. It more than meets the measures up to the standards set down my The Longest Journey and Dreamfall. However, the physical rewards are no where to be seen and the company has been silent for some time. I suspect they spent all the money on reworking parts of the game with each new platform and then the older version to keep everything on the page. If Red Thread games wants to do another kickstarter don't go past digital rewards.
I think only one game was released exactly as promised, all others have been delayed.
If you add up all delays, the question is not how many years, but how many decades it all comes up to.

Then there are some cases up to interpretation - the game was released, but they never delivered any DRM-free version. Should the count go on or be stopped at the Steam release date?

In some cases I honestly don't expect them to ever deliver the game. If they haven't even released any updates during the last two years or so, the project is most likely very dead by now.

Sadly all this has made me very skeptical about backing up any more projects. I do it still from time to time, but very selectively these days.

EDIT: for those interested, I have backed so far about 180 projects, about 105 successful.
Some have nothing to do with games, like Japanese kanji poster (was delivered exactly on time BTW). The least amount I have spent is two dollars on some guy's free of charge image gallery of old computers (was launched exactly on time too). The most I have spent was I think 50 dollars on Jane Jensen's campaign, which eventually delivered two games, the first one behind of schedule, and another one which really wasn't even mentioned during the campaign (Gabriel Knight remake).

I can think of a few.

I'm especially waiting on Aido.

Legend of Grimrock is like Dungeon Master or Eye of the Beholder, not like Bard's Tale.

(Bard's Tale 4 is the only game I've ever backed.)

By the way, you might want to check out Elminage Gothic and (from my understanding) Mary Skelter; those games are more like Bard's Tale when it comes to combat (but with fewer enemies per battle).

htown1980: Legend of Iya (estimated delivery November 2014, last update October 2017)
I backed that as well, but I don't think it will ever be finished. Which is a shame because Mystic Belle by the same dev was quite fun. (apart from the limited inventory)

The other delayed projects I'm currently backing are System Shock (estimated Dec. 2017) and Columnae (estimated Feb 2018). But for both the delay isn't dramatic yet and especially System Shock shows regularly some updates. So I'm confident that they will deliver.

Most Kickstarters I backed in the past actually delivered. Wasteland 2 and especially Overload turned out awesome! All others were at least OK. Beyond computer games the two best Kickstarters I backed were Dice Rings and the Fate Core RPG. The latter not only delivered on the main game but also on the later expansions that they promised. So all around a successful project that treated their backers well.

Somehow I was lucky so that I never backed those projects that got a bad rep later for false advertising or not delivering.
Thea 2: The Shattering:
According to the latest kickstarter update Thea 2: The Shattering will be available in Steam early access in November 2018. It should have been available this summer though.

I'm waiting for this game more than any other games this year.
