UPDATE: Heads up! There are 24h left, so now is the time to take advantage of the amazing deals and upgrade your collections. Eyes on the price, Boo, eyes on the price!

Years ago, the Baldur's Gate series changed the way we look at gaming and the scope of what was considered possible. Even now, the legacy continues through the Enhanced Editions – thanks to the hard work and years of updates to keep the inimitable Infinity Engine living on.

It's the work on the Enhanced Editions that made Siege of Dragonspear possible – the just-released, massive expansion to the timeless classic, available only for Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition.

"The team at Beamdog was able to breathe a new life into the Infinity Engine classics." says Greg Tito, Communications Director for Dungeons & Dragons "We're proud to recognize their excellent work in offering the best possible experience and support for these legendary titles. We want these to become the definitive editions – featuring both the enhanced and classic versions of the games."

On April 29, Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition, and Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition will be expanded to include the classic versions – each becoming the Definitive Edition Bundle and not available for purchase separately. If you already own the classics on GOG.com, the games currently on your shelf won't be affected.

"We're excited to take our commitment and support to Baldur's Gate and GOG fans to the next level and humbled to work with such great partners. The Definitive Edition Bundle will give every Baldur's Gate fan what they're looking for" – concludes Cameron Tofer, Beamdog COO.

In the near future, we're also looking forward to full GOG Galaxy support for achievements in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition, and Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition – as well as in the Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear expansion.

Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition will be 75% off until April 4 11:59 PM PDT / April 5 2:59 AM EDT/ 7:59 BST and 60% off until April 29 10:59 AM PDT / 1:59 PM EDT / 18:59 BST. The 60% discount for Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition, and Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition until April 29 10:59 AM PDT / 1:59 PM EDT / 18:59 BST. The 85% discount for owners of the original saga will last until April 29 10:59 AM PDT / 1:59 PM EDT / 18:59 BST.

phaolo: Is it worth enough to rebuy everything?
For 8 euros? Yes!

avatar
phaolo: Also, do old savegames work in EEs?
I tried finding a definite answer but found no clear one. Most people seem to agree on "no", some say they have imported saves but with problems etc..
I hope the old versions will be still available on my account .

gigakain: Wondering when BG2EE will update to version 2.0? I think it is already up on steam.
Is 2.0 the version which will support achievements?

And the setup_baldurs_gate2_enhanced_edition_2.0.0.1.exe is not the 2.0 version yet, right? So it's still free of achievements?

Correct. For some weird reason the only version info GOG includes in the file name is the installer version, and not the game version.

Where's the mystery if you make everything obvious and transparent? ;)

OK, I have it, on my disk, making a backup now. :)
The 2.0 Installer is in my library. Interesting: Most of the additions that SoD should bring are already contained in that patch, which will also come to BG 2 EE soon. So you only get a new campaign with the add-on, everything else is contained in the patch.

In my library the setup version is 2.0.6.2

It is, and apparently a lot of people HATE the new interface and the changes in graphics. So... Better archive that older version. :)
high rated
I also hope the old games will remain available outside of the bundle. At minimum also for those that own both. Why download all that extra cruft when looking for either version? Odd move ...

Well, I don`t need the old original versions, the enhanced versions are way better.
A problem.

GoG says that if you don't own the original games you get 85% off at the checkout.
When I went to the checkout I only got 77%

77% is not 85%

What's the problem here ?? :( :(

----- EDIT - Sorry I read it wrong.... arrrghhhhhh I can't believe I can't read !! :) ---------------------------

That you didn't read the OP correctly. :) The 85% is for owning the originals.

It`s meant the other way: If you own the originals, you`ll get 85 % off, if you don`t, you`ll get only 75 % off.

I'm confused now. So is what you can download from GOG at the moment still the old, achievement free version or not?

Oh my goodness, you are 100% correct, I can't believe I can't read.

:) Thank you.

Ok well, instabuy from me. These enhanced Editions have been on my wishlist I think for 2 years and I have never seen it on special and GoG is my home page so I see it everyday :)
