Has anyone played these games? I looked at some of the pictures GOG had posted, and it looks like a cross between D&D and Final Fantasy. Is it turn based, or not? Can you have more than 1 in the party, or is it 1 only? How did you like it? Just wondering if it is worth it. Thanks.
I have played and loved both. They are very much not like D&D and Final Fantasy. They are not turn-based, they are action games. Some people like to compare them to Zelda games because of the overarching gameplay - you do a lot of travelling from one 'dungeon' to another, there is a bunch of puzzle solving, a lot of exploration, and you are primarily dealing with close-quarters combat.
Thanks for letting me know! I just may have to get them. Seems like a very good price, especially for a recent release.
There not that recent, but both considered good games. Been wanting to play them as well, due to their somewhat similar qualities to Zelda. Do both games feature controller support and work on Windows 8.1? If yes, then I think I will spring for atleast the first one, maybe both.
I should warn you that the second one features a diablo style loot whoring system, with level and rarity based weapons and special effects etc...
For me 1 rocks hard! VERY satisfying game, nice combat, riddles, equipment that both helps you progress in game and butcher down enemies quicker... It was a real treat. Has to be one of the finest hack and slash games i ever touched!

2, though, is a mixed blessing. It has many RPG features thrown in (some people liked them a lot, though)... Makes you loot all the time, develop your character etc. I don't know how or why, but the graphics of 1, at least their style, seemed better to me, too.

Also, there is something about having finished 1 before starting 2. Methinks you get something bonus, but i don't remember what.

Those games are like a Devil May Cry clone. If you liked that game, you are sure to LOVE those two! Their doomsday atmosphere seems very cultish (you 'll love it), playing as war or death himself feels like badassery incarnate, riding an epic horse feels like an emperor riding and killing through all those things feels second to nothing! You can't go wrong! Get the series, especially now which is on discount, you won't regret it!
