If you own the season pass they knock more off the price. I think it's 33% discount. of course, being in Japan I can't even buy it on Steam at all, so I can only go by posts on the Steam forums. Bandai also disabled gifting of the upgrade.

Uhm... I'm all for HD remakes and remasters of games like Resident Evil, Homeworld or Grim Fandango. But for a less than one year old game??? That's even more ridiculous than Metro Last Light Redux -.-

Also I thought there was a bug on 33% off discount for vanilla+sp. Still it's a shame, it should be free for those users, or 5€ max.

I think they do that to get the games over on the new consoles (Metro Redux, Tomb Raider Definitive Edition, Borderlands Handsome Collection, and so on). The Dark Souls 2 remaster is coming to the new and the old consoles though.. :P

I never bought Dark Souls 2 because I was waiting for all the DLC and patch fixes to come out.

I did not expect this which more value for me.

And I don't play the onlnie portiion of the game because its all fluff.

Dark Souls is meant to be single player.

25$ for a renderer update or a game that's a year old? That's the sort of thing a game would get as a free patch back in the day. Remember when games would support DirectX, OpenGL and Glide?

Very interesting video, I watched it from start to end. But I've read that this "new" version of DS2 still doesn't look like it was supposed to be originally. Anyone know if this is true? I would like to play it someday with the looks and effects of the "Before" version...

Hmmm while I do agree that this might be decent for people who were waiting, I do not agree about the online part. I am a single player gamer myself but I must admit I really like how they implement multiplayer. By that I mean the ghosts. For some reason i find that extremely important for the atmosphere of the game and removing that completely would make it a far lesser game even if at it's core is a rather superficial addition.
