Dishonoured2 has recently had Denuvo sneaked onto the steam page, perhaps so no one would have noticed earlier on.

Even the silly Denuvo disclaimer part on steam states:

"Incorporates 3rd-party DRM: Denuvo Antitamper
5 different PC within a day machine activation limit"

Five different PC per day? Why would anyone stick the game on five PCs in one day? o0

Either way, it's a shame that thing has been put into Dishonoured2, I was looking forward to the game :(

The game, as others with Denuvo, will still end up being cracked & pirated, so the only ones this inconveniences is the rest of us that would've paid for the game.

It has the best possible DRM as far as I'm concerned - requirements to high for my PC. Now that's one thing no crack will fix :D

Maybe by the time it makes it's way here I'll have the hardware to run it ;)

Oh well. Another game I can skip. It's a shame too because I really liked Dishonored. It was no Thief but it was good in it's own way. Plenty of other games to play.

At least Steam finally recognizes Denuvo as what it really is.

I wonder if the 5 different machines per day could hamper some of the review sites as they try the game with different video cards as someone (sorry cannot remember where I heard this) said that denuvo treats a change of ram or a change of video card as a new pc.

On the other hand though I do not recall any versions of Denuvo since Lords of the Fallen mentioning limited activation's

On the bright side though Bethesda is the first company that has called it DRM since the PR folks at Sony DADC have said No its not DRM its just an antitamper mechanism.

Not sure what the big deal is. I got Dragon Age:Inquisition on sale for a pretty decent price, so pulled the trigger. It's also a Denuvo 'protected' game (not to mention being tied to Origin as well). I had exactly zero issues playing the game. Not a fan of DRM, but I really haven't seen any issues with Denuvo from my experience.

Actually, I hear that there exists mods for some games that actually fix that problem (with the downside of worse graphics, of course).

It looks like daughter will have to play this on her PS4.

I'm not anti Denuvo, I'm not Anti DRM either. But Against DRM abuse, and it will help companies enforce anti-comsumer DRM policies.

Hmm, so what exactly is it like playing Denuvo protected games? Specifically, I'm wondering about Metal Gear Solid V, since I plan on getting it this December. (I'd get The Witcher 3, but my PC is probably too underpowered for it.)

I've finished half of Mad Max, never noticed it, but the game itself became too repetitve for may taste.

How can you be on this forum, on this site, and not understand the issues around any DRM? Whatever the DRM, however easy it is to ignore, and however little trouble it has been for you, history has shown time and time again that the odds are high that it will eventually come back to bite you.

Played windows store version of Rise of The Tomb Raider, all my issues sprung from UWP not denuvo.

Denuvo itself appears to be "harmless". Reports of thrashing SSD's appear to be over exaggerated.

The problem is control. Without Denuvo the game is cracked within hours, if you need to you can get no-steam cracks and have the game under your control, not VALVe or the publisher.

With Denuvo, you have no control and its DRM can be enacted in full.

Well, then i will pass this game. Never bought (or even pirated) any game with Denuvo because all of them had quite low quality gameplay. At some moment there were even idea: Denuvo is for only mediocre games because if player will try them first from pirated version - he will never buy this game from store. Because all of them is quite bad.

Homefront? Bad and boring. Far Cry Primal? Simplified reskin of Far Cry 4. MGCV? Where is the last third of the game? And so on. Witcher 3 didn't had any DRM at all, but it sold very well! GTAV was cracked very fast, but it sold over 70 000 000 copies.

So, i suspect that any game with Denuvo is should be viewed with a suspicion.

Denuvo is not DRM, it is an antitamper which protects DRM from debugging. For example: Steam verefication is DRM, Denuvo protects it from hackers.

DRM in itself is not "evil" or wrong.

Our Xboxes and Playstations are full of DRM, but their implementation is not abused.

On the PC, DRM is mostly abused or left unmaintained. That's not directly the fault of DRM, its just a tool, but the fault of the publisher.

Personally If I had the choice, I'd choose DRM free or wait and hope for a DRM free version later. But often than choice is not available and you have to look at the companies involved and judge whether your use of the game and the publishers/stores restrictions are compatible.

Have to disagree. Rise of the Tomb Raider was an improvement over TR2014 which in itself was a good game.
