All bow to the mighty Lamb God!

Cult of the Lamb – an action adventure roguelike with managerial elements that took the game industry by storm after its release. And it is incredibly hard to say which amazing element of this impeccable indie title we like the most: original setting, unique story, cast of out-of-this-world characters, or addictive gameplay that makes us never want to stop playing it. Who would have thought that starting your own cult in a land of false prophets, venturing out into diverse and mysterious regions to build a loyal community, and slashing your way through various dungeons could be that fun? Well, all of us.

And now there are even more reasons to never stop building our Cult. Get ready to check out major Relics Of The Old Faith update, make use of -35% discounts on the base game, Cultist Pack DLC and OST (available until May 8th, 4 PM UTC) and grab yourself the Heretic Pack DLC – now available on GOG!

Relics of the Old Faith is an enormous (and free!) update that adds a new post-game storyline for those who have already completed the base game. Yet, its biggest additions are focused mainly on improving the entire experience with deeper combat, revamped bosses and enemies, and new modes.

To sum it up, what you can expect is: new post-game storyline, deeper combat with Relics and Heavy Attacks, revamped bosses & enemies, challenge runs, Boss Rush and Permadeath, new quests, progression systems and secrets, improved Cult management, photo mode, added accessibility options, and somehow even more…

Awesome, so I take it that they patched it and the offline installer is drm-free again now?

I'll check when I have some time, but if someone could validate this, it would be really great.
Did they remove the "glitch" (read DRM) that makes the game crash when Galaxy isn't running, yet?

I will not have time to test today if the DRM checks have been removed (Galaxy should NEVER have been written to allow that at all, accidentally nor intentionally [as the developer admits]! GOG failed when they wrote the Galaxy APIs to even allow it to function this way). Offline installers do appear to have been updated already.

If someone else can beat me to it, I won't get a chance to check until tomorrow. Make sure you test full offline without Galaxy nor any services running at any point (disconnect from the network after downloading the offline installers is recommended). I had validated one smaller one near the start of the game that was able to be bypassed depending on selections, but the real hard-stop one was a goodly bit in later when you give the first sermon.

EDIT: Per my, and looking at other people's, it looks like the intentional use of online checks as DRM has been removed. The title now appears to be DRM-free. Of course, there may be something somewhere still. Someone mentioned trying to do a full play offline. I don't have the time for that in my pipeline for a while!

Ewww.... I wanted to buy this games but their comments definitely isn't reassuring... Why release on GOG if you want to use a DRM...

Judging by what they wrote in the thread, it might be ok now, but I think someone should definitely verify it. If someone else doesn't beat me to the punch, I'll try out the game this week and see. If it is still drmed even after the patch (I hope not), I'll ask for a refund though.

Regardless, even if it does end up being drm-free now, my advice would be to keep previous versions of the game backed up and not overwrite them with future updates as clearly the dev's views don't seem to be well aligned with GOG's philosophy. They may relapse...

On the off chance anyone is reading this thread before they purchase the Cultist Edition, Don't!
Buying the base game and the Cultist Pack separately is cheaper because they are both at 35% off while the Cultist Edition is only 25% off.
Yay for bad maths!
EDIT: Used the wrong name of the Pack, whoops!

Just came here to ask the exact same question basically everybody here was asking already. Really hoping that this has been fixed since the fact that this even was the case already put the devs on my blacklist.

@GOG: You really should take it seriously when devs are using your optional client for purposes of DRM. If anything was ever a no go on GOG it is actual single player DRM and none of it belongs here. Basically everyone of your customers is not okay with DRM on GOG and it is a pity that this still happens.

But the Base game + Heretic Pack isn't equal to the Cultist Edition, I think.

For the full content you need:
- Base game + Cultist Pack + Heretic Pack
or
- Cultist Edition + Heretic Pack

They won't. As I know you're aware, CDPR themselves use the optional client for purposes of DRMing content, called "My Rewards." The optional client is working as intended, why would they change anything.

Yeah, I confused things by using the wrong name there. The Cultist Edition has the Base game and the Cultist Pack, and only those 2 items. Buying both of those separately is currently cheaper than the Cultist Edition

I disconnected the computer from the internet and played 1-2 hours tonight. Saved the game, loaded the game, defeated a boss. Completed a sermon. So far, so good. From what I read, I think it crashed for most people by then.

Unfortunately, that is not actually accurate. There are actually many DRM defenders on GOG who have no problem with DRM in GOG games.
Btw, played some more yesterday (2 more hours I think) and so far, so good. I'll report again once I completed the game, but not sure how long that will take.
