I love how they outright stole the Monkey Island music.

Does this qualify, or do we just throw that in the "theft" bin too?

Yes... The backgrounds, in particular, which not only look quite amateurish, but also don't seem to fit in with the 3D design of the characters.

Guys, please. Where are your manners?

If it's not your cup of tea, then leave it. This constant negativity is annoying.

Graphics are hand drawn by the dude's teenage nephew. Is this how you talk about somebody's kid?

Even if the graphics are a bit sketchy and the humor is a bit corny. There are ways to comment politely. Try to phrase your thoughts in a way that resembles an adult response.

This is a gaming forum, not the stall of a school bathroom.

Next to Garfield, I see the Enterprise from Star Trek.

GOG exists for bitter, old and old-at-heart men to be angry and annoyed at everything. ;)

Yes the backgrounds look very amateurish, and maybe GOG should have curated this but overall I prefer less curation and letting people decide themselves. TBH, I'm glad some other stores like Steam have very little curation, because maybe some people will actually like this game. Niche games deserve to exist.

I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't initially get Heroine's Quest because the cover art looks amateurish too, and I suspect the same with other now-highly-voted titles like UnReal World and The Consuming Shadow.

It does not look that bad. If the gameplay of this one is good, it's alright. There are other adventures that are sold on GOG that have lo-fi art style as well – e.g. Ben There, Dan That!.

If Gollum made it through curation, everything should be able to pass.

Looks are not everything guys! I've played something like 2h of this, and yeah, on the first glance it doesn't look the most aesthetically pleasing, and few first puzzles to solve are suuuuper easy, I suppose to introduce the mechanics well, but it really becomes enjoyable later, especially if you're an oldschool point and click fan, as clearly the devs are. It has the quirkiness, a bit of a challenge with some bizarre puzzle solutions; I'm super glad there's a free demo so more people would give it a chance despite maybe not the best first impression.
Wishlisted for now because....

1. Cats

2. While the art looks inconsistent in that the people look like they were done with a computer paint program and the backgrounds look hand drawn, this is a game that was funded via a kickstarter campaign. They probably had enough funding to finish their game but not to the extent of redoing all the backgrounds and anyway... who cares anyway because cats.

3. Someone in this game's development team appears to share my sentiments exactly when it comes to Chihuahuas. (See at point 0:44 in the trailer.)
Hopefully they get a better video trailer for the game as the current one is just boring... you can have a good game but if the trailer is boring it's going to make the sale harder.

Plus the music is just too Monkey Island to the point that it doesn't feel like it fits what I'm seeing in the promo shots.

Again, could be a great game but the presentation is not selling it for me.

Normally I wouldn't be so lowbrow, but when GOG lets something on the store that's this far below standards for a paid product, I don't think it deserves a highbrow response.

Of course graphics aren't everything, but they have to be something in a visual medium. I literally could have done a better job than this at age 14, hell even a staff member just had to admit it looks poor. . This should be on a platform like itch.io, where amateur work is more appropriate.

Also, how exactly was I expected to even know that a teenager drew these backgrounds when it isn't stated on the store page? I can only work with what the page shows me. If i'd known this was some kid's work, i'd probably have been less crude. That said, teenagers are old enough to be able to handle their work being panned.
It doesn't look that crude. But...I do find it concerning how similar the logo is along with the general audio aesthetic. Reminding people of a better product is exactly one of the worst things one could do.

I'd also be concerned if the music is plagiarized.

Do a curly notebook font for the title or something, to match the quality of the game's visuals.
Huh. My first thought on seeing the title was how I liked the art style, but hope the game play goes at least a little "psychedelic" to match it.

I mean, there are then the games that actively go against you being able to play it with their art. Like Loop Hero, the game so grotesque you can't even tell what's going on, read fonts, or tell one thing from another.
