eric5h5: Edit: yup, it's UE4. Hope UE5 avoids the "obviously a UE game" look that all UE4 games somehow seem to have.
Doubt it. It was the same with UE3. It was a great engine, but at the peak of its popularity when nearly every other game was using it, it could get a bit tiring :P

Not entirely sure you can blame the engine for every game being developed being a brown and grey shooter. That's on publishers.
What is Phantom Fury?

"Phantom Fury releases on PC on April, 23rd 2024."

Not coming to gog, the devs/publisher have confirmed via their Discord that this game is not getting released on gog. They wanted to pull the store page, which apparently hasn't happened yet.
A game that only releases on Steam. Makes you kinda wonder why there's still a "Coming soon" store page when 3DR people made it officially clear that there will be no GOG release on April 23.

Right, just remembered that one thread a couple weeks back where it was alleged that 3D Realms' new owners, Saber Interactive are likely responsible for this last minute pull out.

Well, maybe in a couple years then, when it's no longer selling over on the other platform.

Did they say why? Lack of sales here or did 3DRealms have some falling out with GOG? I find it weird we still don't have half the old 3DRealms DOS games here, eg, Paganitzu, Major Stryker, etc, that 3DR seem happy to keep selling on Steam...

"Might have something to do with 3D Realms and Slipgate Ironworks now being under the umbrella of Saber Interactive, which, as you may have heard has been sold off by Embracer and is now privately owned.

Saber Interactive also seems to be on the pro-DRM side of things, and probably enforces this stance on all its new subsidiaries (including 3D Realms and Slipgate Ironworks) now as well."

Thank you, I missed that thread for some reason. Unfortunate to hear.

I wonder why no release on EGS then. Maybe a "bad look" or just low sales expected there.

And does SI use anything other than easily-crackable Steam DRM?

As far as upcoming releases of them as the developer are concerned - Space Marine 2 might get ye olde Denuvo treatment I imagine?

Sad for them. Wanted to buy it here, will now NOT be able to buy it here, will get it elsewhere (but will make sure the publisher gets NO MONEY from me...) and life will go one.

I am so over being sad about that stuff. Dumb publisher, money not spend by me, let's wait for other upcoming games here.

Is there mention of Phantom Fury being purchasable on GOG?
Would be hilarious if 3D Realms/Saber Interactive had to release it then here after all.
They promised a GOG Release then pull out at the last minute? this and the mixed reviews means they have lost a sale. good work 3drealms! keep it up...
