MechWarriors, assemble!

BattleTech, the Kickstarted take on tactical 'Mech combat by the creators of Shadowrun Returns, is coming soon, DRM-free on GOG.com.

It's 3025 and the world is being torn apart by conflict while an interstellar civil war is a-brewing. The only way to survive is by leading your own mercenary outfit of MechWarriors through this brutal power struggle between corrupt rulers and ambitious aristocrats. Customize your giant BattleMechs and pilots, keep them upgraded and fit for battle, then unleash them upon your enemies in turn-based skirmishes that might as well decide the future of this war-ravaged world.

Tarm: GOG can fix it! They can fix everything techie for oldies games. Trust in the GOG. The GOG is good.

dudalb: But does GOG want to fix it?
Here is the problem. A 16 Bit Windows game would cost so much to convert to 32 bit that it would have to be a really big seller to make it worth while for GOG to do that.
I have never played MissionForce: Cyberstorm and have no opinion about it ,but it seems to have been only a modest success, not the kind of well known classic that would justify GOG's going to the expense of a total conversion to 32 bit if it is a 16 bit game.
That's the million dollar question.
Honestly I think the odds for GOG making the judgement an old game being worth the trouble or not is getting worse and worse. It feels like GOG is turning towards indie and new games more and more so if a old game ain't a great classic or really easy and cheap to get to work and sell chances are low.

That being said if GOG finds a easier working solution for early windows games there are a lot of games they could start selling that hopefully would sell well. A man can hope.
There's probably a better chance for GOG going into emulation and selling MechForce though than old windows games. :/
Apologies if this has been posted before: combat preview video in the latest KS update with a multiplayer match, kinda long due to the comentary, but still looking good.

frost0: Does anybody know if Mechwarrior 5 is still happening? Don't think I saw any news recently.
There is Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries that should be coming in 2018.

About Mission Force: CyberStorm, it runs fine on windows 8.1 64bits, just the instaler dont work but to get game working is just to copy the game folder from CD, change compatibility to win xp or lower and you are good to go, played this year half of the campaign again and still is fun in a unique game, sequel is easier to get working but not so good.

You can get it to work using the RBXIT patch and running it as an admin.

Painted_Doll: Just one question : How many DLCs will be released ?
Paradox is just the publisher not the producer ;)

From actual Backer News about the deal with Paradox:

You mentioned expansions. What's the plan for post-launch content and DLC?
In success we hope to release full-fledged expansions to the game and intend to focus on that over small pieces of DLC.

I still don't trust in Paradox .
Very much interested but also kinda wary thanks to Paradox..

pmcollectorboy: Whoa. Dude. Does this mean they'll eventually get around to the classic Mechwarrior and Mechcommander games?
The MechWarrior games seem to be in legal limbo.
Speaking of Paradox, why haven't they brought Stellaris here yet?
