I'm in! Thank you, ExiL0n. Never played Loom or even heard about it until a few years ago when I played Monkey Island and asked a pirate about it. Since then I've often seen praise for the game. It's wonderful that it's no longer abandoned.

It's hard to pick a favourite adventure game because there are so many that I loved, but I always had a soft spot for good old Quest for Glory 2.
I'm in. Thx for the giveaway.I have never played Loom but heard a lot of good things about it. Favourite adventure game: without a doubt: Escape from Monkey Island. Absolutely amazing as is every other lucas game.Long live GOG
Not in, but definitely gonna get this one day.
Favorite adventure game by leaps and bounds is Riven.
Aaaah, I would have been so in for Loom, BECAUSE I've played it decades ago ;-D
+1 for a wonderful giveaway ExiL0n! One Loom first timer will be really happy and he doesn't even know yet.
I'll be in for Loom, thank you.

Haven't really gotten around to playing many adventure games yet. Think the only ones I've finished were the first Broken Sword and Monkey Island. And Machinearium.
heard of loom
but each time i heard the name i cant help but think of it being a doom wad file instead of a game in its own right

never played it though
i was 1 or 2 when it was released and was playing the nes a few years later
I remember seeing it in a store in the early nineties, but at the time I was playing only RPG's, so never got around to trying it.
In later years I came to regret it for I heard its name mentioned often.
Point & click adventures are still not high on my favourite genres list, although I have played half-a-dozen or so since joining GOG.
My favourite as yet would probably be Gray Matter.
I'm in.

So this is a game I first became interested in about 20 years ago. I received a promotional VHS from some N.E.C. TurboGrafx-16/TurboDuo magazine sendaway, and I would watch the thing over and over (patiently waiting for the rewind each time)... and one of the games that always looked fascinating to me was Loom. I eventually did get a TurboDuo, but the local Babbage's (yes, I shopped at nerd store Babbage's) didn't ever stock Loom so I could never buy it.

The promo video is here:

Loom part starts here:

I didn't actually even realize that the TurboGrafx-16 CD version was a port of a PC game until about a year ago.

ExiL0n: To enter, state clearly that you're in and share what's your favourite adventure game.
I'm in!

Favorite adventure game: Primordia - It's such a well-crafted world with excellent dialogue writing and fantastic atmosphere. At 30+ years of age, I wasn't sure if a point & click game could draw me into it's world so completely ever again like the old classics did when I was a child, but this game proved to me it is still possible.

Favorite classic adventure game: Police Quest Series - This was my favorite adventure series growing up. Maybe a bit of an odd choice for a little kid, but I was a precocious little scamp.

discworld and broken sword for me

discworld mostly because of the insane humor not because im that good at the completely outlandish over the top and plain unfair puzzles

I tried Broken Sword but was rather bored by it, I'm afraid.
As for Discworld, never even heard of the game (and only slightly familiar with the books).

there are 3 games
all 3 insane
discworld 1
2 and noir

1 and 2 are based on several books noir is an original game and a send up of crime noir books movies and games

if you can get any of them for a decent price dont hesitate
but 1 is the hardest

I'll bear it in mind.
In the last six years I've only played games on GOG, but I expect that will change sooner rather than later.

discworld 1 is so difficult they even joke about it in the manual of 2 and give you the solution

2 is called mortality bites in the usa

and unless they ever come to gog ( unlikely perfect entertainment and gt interactive are no more )
they only work on windows 9X
I'm in. Never played it.

My current favourite adventure game is Quest for Glory 4. For me, it's the RPG mechanics and the open world approach that give it an edge over other adventure games, but I also love all the slavic folklore and the references to classic horror.

Of course, ask me again another day and I might name a completely different game.

I'm pretty sure Discworld 1 (so probably 2 as well) works with SCUMVM. Although yes, it's so hard it's not even "hard" anymore as much as simply impossible without a walktrough. A pity, because walking around Ankh-Morpork as Rincewind voiced by Eric Idle is lot of fun.
