Racing game with real cars (well, at least in the past or with restoration mods now) on GOG? Hell has frozen over?

Spent a few hours with it today. It ain't the best racing game I've ever played, but it's decent arcadey fun. Quite enjoyed some of the "off-road" tracks and time gate challenges I've played so far.

Funny how screenshots and description never say the most important thing..

does it have a cockpit or hood or bumper view?

It has a frontal cam with or without hood (which are essentially the same) and the usual back of car near and slightly further away cam. No internal view with dash.

The default key for camera switch is the C button.

But this upgraded version of game should also have a solid compatibilty to modern gamepads and wheel support, so one should try out, what is good for them.

I've played this a lot when it came out back in the days

yes, it is fun to play, but it gets quite difficult to win later

but I might have just been too lame :D

anyways, it's greatest pluses for me is tha variability - the "campaign" let's you play regular sports car race, then some historic cars, then you're playing off-road race (where you really have to wildly sprint across meadows, turn around stacks of hay, jump off cliffs etc.), then you're driving a supersport

as I said, I played it and liked it a lot, but eventually hit a spot where I just couldn't win anymore :D

will buy here again though, if just for the memories!

It would be nice if the game worked on Win7.

If you have bought it, try to download the 32-bit version. Maybe you can run it on Windows 11. However officially this re-release by UniqueGames Publishing GmbH doesn't support the old Windows 7.

Sony really needs to port GT or at least their underrated racing games drive club.

Personally, I found Drive Club to be one of the most visually stunning racing games I have played. It's unfortunate that Drive Club has not received a PS5 upgrade yet.

It would be nice, if UniqueGames Publishing GmbH could bring Crash Time (Alarm for Cobra 11) series to GOG.

Maybe one day. Fingers crossed. :)

My hopes of seeing XPand Rally + Xtreme here have just been increased :)

Maybe is the beginning of other games from Synetic on GOG like their masterpiece, the Crash Time games.


It seems not clear who own the Crash Time I.P. (Synetic closed in 2014): Meridian4, Kalypso Media Digital or UniqueGames ?
