I'm not on my PC but on my Android device, it's terrible ! I have to turn the phone in all directions to be able to read something. I'm already regret the former chat ; (

Can it possibly be worse than it was though? I couldn't do anything in chat on my phone with the old layout...

BlackThorny: Where did the chat history go? I'm pinging you as I'm sure if it's indeed gone, you'll know how to bring it back.
What chat history?

Your conversation should be saved with each individual. When you click the plus sign in the top left corner you'll get a drop down of previous people you have talked to sorted in order of last message. It's slightly less convenient than the previous version was but I prefer it I think.

Once I get the time I plan to add a feature to my script to save the list of conversations in the left hand bar so you can just keep the list of people you talk to regularly there and handy.

It seems that all the chat history is still there. Select a name in the "CHAT WITH" box and you'll see all previous messages between you and that person. There's no specific list of previous conversations that I can see though, so you'll need to know who you were talking to.

Slightly less convenient? You can add whoever you want, but as soon as you close the page, the list on the left gets scrubbed, and the next time you open your chat the list is blank, and you only have readily access to the very last conversation you're having, if the reason you went to your chat is because you got a new message.

It's exclusively filter based. Plus it killed every bid of my custom css; that's plenty of a difference for me.

Johny.: This is not really related, but yes - you'll get notifications soon. :)
Soon™? We can all rest assured then.

And is this change a first taste of the awesomeness you spoke of?

We'll soon™ see about the soon™!

And you've shown that you have good memory and ability to relate facts! :D
I was writing about notifications then, not chat.

Don't worry, I can probably fix that :)

Done :)

And I have to say, while it's still not brilliant on mobile it's definitely better than it was.

Hmmm, the post I just wrote making fun of TinyE, um I mean saying chat works for me never made it.

I wonder why spam filter I hit.

I'm not worried, I was pissed off at the time, and didn't even thank you for looking into it.

I know it's not all that easy to keep track of GOG's unique time units, but hat's a few weeks™.

Soon™ far exceeds a few weeks™, though we have yet to figure out what mortal time span it covers, let alone if that time span is fixed.

Why not? Seems right inline with every other change GOG considers awesome. Like bringing over to the site the GOG Galaxy chat, which doesn't show who's actually online on the site. Because seven months later, whatever needed reworking still hasn't been reworked. Really awesome.

And what about notifications will be awesome? That we'll get flags for wishlisted games going on sale? Without game updates flags, I can't say I actually care - this "Hear hear! More chances for you to give us your money! What? You also want to be notified when your purchased games get updated? Tough luck!" doesn't exactly do it for me.
So... is the idea now to basically slowly replace the website with Galaxy piece by piece untill we all end up using Galaxy one way or the other?
Dear GOG, it's so nice that you've upgraded the chat system, but why oh why, can't you still figure out a way to actually let us delete contacts? Hiding the box in a closable pop-up is not the same thing as deleting!

You keep using that word. I don't think it means what you think it means.
