I'm in because I love Star Trek: Birth of The Federation.

BoTF is probably THE BEST MOO2 clone out there. The setting is as sci-fi as it can be. It plays as MOO2, but the diplomacy and espionage sides of the game are improved. You get the major races from the Star Trek universe, but there are also a lot of the minor races that you encounter in your Star Trek series (Kzinti, Andorians and so on).

Combat wise, it's basically the same as MOO2. The game has a lot of charm and each race plays differently (you can't expect Ferengi to be in combat as good as let's say Klingons, Cardassians or The Federation), but they are great on the economy side. The Romulans have their espionage ramped up, with only Cardassians coming near. Klingons are great in the ship combat, but weak on economy and research. Federation has the best research and diplomacy in the game.

Just a few examples of how things are working. would love to see the game on GOG, because, right now, you have to jump through a lot of hoops to make the game to work on the modern OS (Vista and higher). Would still recommend it in a heartbeat if asked about it.

Planning to test the Android version soon. Got on the touch screen train recently, though i still own a rather classic and ugly mobile phone (i still like my old phone as the battery stays charged for quite a few days, despite extensive use)

P.S.: the testing device is an old Asus TFT300T tablet. Hopefully, it's more than enough for the game.

It should work, though the Tegra 3 might have some drawing issues I'm currently investigating. So far I've heard this happen on the Asus Nexus 7.
Interesting, mind if I ask what ype of genre you have the most experience working with? Besides this one of course!

Oh and you should try Batlletech, it's a table top, but you know what? it's still a lot of fun given it's cuztomization and campaign setting.

I am trying to make my own as well, hell I want to make an open source, online to LAN multiplayer, RPG, but I am having issues with the netplay and some assets ._.

This is my first game that I actually finished to a degree to be released. I did some card games in the past, way back and planned to do a RPG which never materialized itself...

I rarely play tabletops as I don't have a lot of friends who do, but I'll keep in mind.

Good luck with that. How do you want to make matchmaking? You will need servers if the multiplayer isn't just LAN. As for with assets I really can't help, my assets are also borrowed (with permission of course).
Time to wrap this up, the winner will be announced shortly.
There were lots of great entries, and most of the games mentioned are close to my heart. An objective choice would've been difficult so I called in random.org to help also. Anyway, long story short, thank you guys for taking part, it was fun reading your opinion about lots of great games, but there can be only one.

Congratulations! You are the winrar. I think you'll like X3, but be prepared to sacrifice a lot of your time ;). Enjoy your empire and post me a screenshot when you're done with "The Hub". Watch PM.
Thank you very much, blotunga. I would also like to extend my appreciation to random.org, and to my fellow participants. I did not know all the games that you mentioned. Some sparked my curiosity. Thank you for sharing.

I shall now proceed to sacrifice countless hours to the mighty space sandbox computer game. Thanks once more, and happy holidays to everyone!
Thanks once again for the giveaway blotunga & congrats Gede! :D
