Hello guys!

I've just downloaded Witcher 1 from GOG Galaxy (I downloaded the Game Backup Copy), and since i downloaded the Game Backup Copy and installed it, i can't manage to import it to GOG Galaxy, even though i click on the "Scan and import folders".

The game doesn't show up in the Library and i want it to sync with GOG :(

The only reason i downloaded the Game Backup Copy, is because i have a reallyyyy slow internet, and i wanted to install it to my desktop computer aswell, without habing to wait 1 day for it to download :)

How do i import the game to GOG Galaxy so that it can sync my game? :)
In Galaxy go on Witcher Library page and press More -> Manage Installation -> Import Folder and choose the flder where you installed it.

Go to your library via Galaxy, click Witcher's box, then the "More" button and it should bring up a drop-down menu. Select "Manage Installation", "Import Folder" and then direct it to the game's installation directory and it should do the trick.

Thank you for the quick reply!
It still doesn't work :(
I get this window when i try your method: http://imgur.com/a/RESu0

The game is in folder C:\GOG Games\The Witcher Enhanced Edition Director's Cut. Maybe that's the problem?

Usually this should work :( ... one thing you still can try, is installing Witcher via Galaxy in the folder it actually is in and hope the single files will be recognized ...

It doesn't work :(.. It just download the game from the beginning. HOWEVER i did notice that the new install folder is named "The Witcher Enhanced Edition", and that "Director's Cut", is not in it. I tried to rename the folder (where the actual game is) to only "The Witcher Enhanced Edition", still no success... Dammit!

Guess it doesn`t like you. Something else you can do, to have it on both machines in Galaxy:

Install via Galaxy on one machine and copy the folder on the other machine and import there, this should at least work then, but needs another download :(

Maybe you should write in the sticky Galaxy thread or report it on mantis. This is definitely something that shouldnt happen, especially with a CD Project game.
Same thing happened to me. I usually download games though GOG Downloader and then install. Import folder used to work many times in the past, but not for last two games, namely Sacred and Stronghold. However, Galaxy recognized Emperor and Morrowind, installed between or after the former games, respectively, with no problem. Thankfully, I have acceptable internet connection. It is a waste though.

Edit: I also tried turning off antivirus, running Galaxy as administrator and turning off other game client, but no success there.

Same problem here i really want gog to keep track of my progress and stuff but it cant find the game in the folder :P
Unless something has changed, you may check The Witcher folder for goggame-#.info file.
Create one if there is none and try importing again.
I have some of the GOG games in my library that are from pre-galaxy era and they also have this problem - for whatever reason Galaxy is unable to see them.
Around beggining of 2016 some crafty GOG user named Taro94 created a little program called "GOG game adder" that is capable of adding almost any game to galaxy - including games that are 100% non-GOG and non-galaxy. Maybe you should try to look for it, using forum search function (I have this program, but I'm not sure if the original author allowed to linking to it outside original forum thread, so sorry - no dl here).
The downside of using this little clever piece of software is that while games are added and visible in galaxy and could be launched from there with no problem, the things like game overlay and achievements will most probably wont work.

Edit: damn you, my stupid keyboard - why you keep randomly throwing spaces in the middle of the words?!

If you are not opposed to using Galaxy on both computers, it's far better to download the game with Galaxy (not the backup copy) and then copy the game folder to the other PC and use scan and import via Galaxy on the second PC.

Not all of the standalone installers have been updated to be Galaxy compatable yet so Galaxy can have issues importing them. Though a lot of times depending on the game it will work fairly well.

By the way, i dont know how many hours i've played the Witcher 1, but it's alot. Is there a way to backup the saved files in the cloud AFTER i have added the game in GOG galaxy? :)
