Wodenke: Can't find the statement at the moment, but I'm fairly certain I saw the Core Decay developer Ivar Hill confirm that the GOG release is still happening no matter what.

Same with Cultic:
https://www.gog.com/forum/general/games_that_are_unofficially_confirmed_for_release_on_gog_in_the_future_part_3?search=cultic

Looks like it depends on whether the title in question is only published by 3D Realms/Saber Interactive. If the developer wants the title to release on GOG as well, then 3D Realms/Saber Interactive has to comply.

kultpcgames: That would be great. I also can't understand why paying customers and fans of the games should be denied this. I'll wait patiently... :)
Many publishers figure people will buy on Steam eventually so no point in supporting other stores outside of Steam and Epic. To a point they are right as I always see people saying they already bought it elsewhere.

People need to be more resilient and not buy on DRM platforms as it's money that publishers listen to, not complaining.

kultpcgames: It's a shame, first there's no "Tempest Rising" here on GOG, and now "Broken Arrow" is being removed from the store. GOG won't be able to do anything about it, and I WILL NOT buy the games on Steam, but I would also prefer it if GOG at least let us know that it was removed and why. A simple "By order of the rights holder" would suffice.
Your not missing much with TR. The game is very lackluster

Yes, unfortunately, there are too many gamers who don't want to wait, but I don't judge them; everyone has to decide that for themselves. My wishlist is still full of other titles that, overall, aren't nearly as important to me as the ones already mentioned, but then they get my money, and I play those games. It's a shame, but on the other hand, there are enough games out there.
So why was Broken Arrow removed? I see a couple of people asking the question, but of course, the developers have not answered the question on Discord. Discord is a joke, I swear.

One of the Slitherine boys said that it may come to gog, but at the later date. But that was right before it got removed...

For the record one of the developers on steam just said they never plan to bring the game to GOG. So why was store page created for it. idk

Neither the only, nor the first and probably not the last time to happen:
https://www.gog.com/forum/general/coming_soon_klaus_lee_thunderballs_1db9d/post20

I can only assume, that a release was planned at some point around the public notification, but then something changed the minds of the devs/publishers.

shrug

The way I see it: there are more than enough games to play on GOG, even if a dozen planned releases get cancelled.
Apparently it's an always online affair after all?
Seeing quite a few mentions that Skirmish as well as the Single-Player campaign is not playable while offline.

Well, if that's the case then it's obvious why Broken Arrow won't show up here, for the time being at least.

WARNO looks like a proper alternative and might scratch that particular modern-warfare-on-a-large-scale RTS itch.

That's sad it's always online if true. Reading through the forum's it seems Warno is the better game right now.

To be honest I would love for Wargames Red dragon on GOG.

Did you buy it? They said there is no non-Steam version, and it might just be key for Steam if you buy there. Can you confirm? Is it always online?

I already buy from them.

Edit: from the website

Please note that Broken Arrow requires Steam for multiplayer functionality. Therefore, all purchases made on our store will now provide a Steam key, not a standalone version.
If you have any problems or questions, feel free to reach out to our support team at support@slitherine.co.uk"

Think you might be wrong about it having DRM free version.

Its been quite the week.
After waving my dear colleague a good trip, in an ambulance. Our shared responsibility became a one-man job.
Thankfully, my love for the chap is strong
