I know, but still saying "I migrated to consoles long ago" and meaning just the very previous generation seems... slightly odd. But yeah, I guess it's just me being out touch with the times. I am one of those people who still feel like the 80s were 20 years ago. At most.

I think for that to happen, Valve would have to seriously screw up something with the core of the platform. Sure, there are so half thought out features, but at the end of the day the majority of people care about playing the games that they want to play. As it stands, Steam is the place to do that.

unless gog can get a exlcusive like cs go or dota or tf2 or overwatch or warcraft mmos chances of anything overtaking steam is a long way off

Why does everything have to be a competition? I won't ever use Steam and I'm sure there are a few gazillion Steam users who will never GOG and that is the order of the Universe. I have my side of the fence, they have their's, and everything is beautiful.
You can say that only because you're a privileged white text PC master race user. But #ConsoleLivesMatter and you couldn't ever know what they have to go through between all of the discrimination and their history of always being treated inferior. People pretend that it's not an issue and that everyone's the same, but we're not. We're not the same and your offensive comments are exactly why we struggle to have change.

Felt forever ago getting playing Halo 3 on the Xbob 360 for the first time.
11 years ago IS a long time ago lets not pretend it isnt
and the last console generation was an abberation normally they last 4 5 years

other then the ps2 which lasted an ungodly 14 years

Son wanted to play "Rise of the TombRaider". There was no way it would run on his £200 laptop.
But I was able to get it on the xbox360, sure its not as pretty as it is on my £700 gaming rig, but still a damn fine experience

I doubt a mid range PC from 11 years ago would be able to play RotTR.


Back on topic.

Competition is highly important to any market, and where competition is unavailable (such as state run services) there should be culpability. VALVe has neither.
