The amount of bad news coming from this game is astounding, i was never interested in it to begin with what i have seen so far and how they have handled the development and getting rid of devs is concerning to say the least.

Without Mitsoda and the firing of Avellone, their writing team is now shit so fuck Hardsuit and Paradox.

I hope it ends up a good game, I was looking forward to it.
And that means purchase at 80% off for me instead of preorder.

Obviously sucks balls for Mitsoda and the other guy to be sacked like this, but I'm not knee-jerk cancelling the pre-order over this just yet. If it should come to light that it was over something trivial (refusing to kiss the pride flag or something along those lines) then I will consider it.

Also it's not like they'd be able to wipe or dramatically alter Mitsoda's writing (for whatever reason) at this point. He was still the lead writer/narrative designer on the project after all.

Don’t worry, it’s paradox, so they will be releasing bits of the game over the next ten years, so plenty f time for many writers and such like!

Zanderat: I have already requested a refund for my pre-order.
Thank you for letting us know. I also requested and received a refund of my pre-order. If it turns out to be a good enough game, I'll buy it some other time, during a sale, but at this point things are looking shaky.
Exactly right. With both Avellone and Mitsoda gone, I will wait for the reviews.
Was thinking about preordering this but that won't happen now. Thanks for letting us know.

Tbh this is one theory I had as to why they got canned...that they wouldn't add more (imo unneeded) "IRL messaging" into the game.

If they got canned over that, then screw the company making it....i'll get it on even deeper sale(if I even bother with it at all, that is) than normal.

They delayed it, though, so some such things could still be possible(yeah, the company likely couldn't wipe all their efforts for various reasons, but they could likely replace some of it).

The 30 days no-questions-asked refund policy should really come in handy here...
As much as I love the original game I find the fanboying over Mitsoda kind of odd. Yes he was creative lead or whatever, but he was one dude on that team, and since then he's worked on nothing of real quality. An early version of Alpha Protocol before being replaced and the woefully meh Dead State which was overshadowed very quickly by other retro games of that nature. He's had many issues with the finish line before.

No one knows what is going on behind the scenes obviously, I just dislike assuming one guy who made a flawed gem is obviously the hero. Things are always more complicated than that. This game has seemed notoriously iffy in ever video, so perhaps it needed a new guiding hand. Let's just wait and see what comes of it.

I pre-ordered it on the very day GOG added the option, which was a long time ago. Luckily...

4. What about pre-orders?

Pre-orders can be refunded throughout their pre-order period (as in - until they get released), and for 30 days after their release date.

To be honest, the release date push-back weighed in a lot more. While I was on the edge when that announcement came out, a restructuring with key people thrown out at this point can only be seen as more bad news.
