There are two things that matter to all of us gamers: the games we play and the friends we play them with. But as more titles come with dedicated launchers and clients, our games and gaming buddies become scattered in between them. With GOG GALAXY 2.0, you’ll be able to combine multiple libraries into one and connect with your friends across all gaming platforms!

As gamers, we need to juggle between multiple clients to access our games and see what our friends are playing,” says Piotr Karwowski, Managing Director at GOG. “We believe gamers deserve a better experience, and this became the driving force to redefine GOG GALAXY client,” Karwowski adds. “GOG GALAXY 2.0 is designed for all gamers and extends well beyond existing GOG.COM users, into both PC and console platforms.

Once you connect GOG GALAXY 2.0 with other platforms, it will import all your games into one library. You will see your friends activities and online status across connected platforms. All new library and friends features apply to your GOG.COM games and enhance your experience. And it’s designed to protect your privacy – your data belongs to you and will never be shared with third parties. We see it as an all-in-one solution for the present-day gamer.

If it can lunch any PC game from any digital platform WITHOUT need to start specific app seperately (i.e. I could import Total War: Warhammer 2 into Galaxy and start it without starting Steam) - great, useful thing. If it still requires to launch specific digital store app - um, where is benefit?

Which is exactly why I don't get why import console games if you obviously still need to start them through console. Looks like feature for the sake of being a feature, without real use.
Why do I see Halo and Forza on the promotion screenshots there? Just noticed that linking games through the client is one of the main features, woooo!

(and awesome job guys!)

It irks me when people complain about lack of Linux/Unix support. It's not a mainstream platform for entertainment and gaming, you know pretty well what you get yourself into when you deciding to go with it.

I have a friend who's an avid Linux user cause he's a programmer, but he also run Windows in a dual-boot mode on his machine for his entertainment needs.

I'm worried about the offline innstallers. What are your long term plans for those? Is there any chance that you could heighten their status by increasing their visibility?

Will it tell us which steam games are DRM-Free so I don't have to go to that laggy wiki page all the time?
I like the initiative.
I hope the UI will not be cloned steam, that is terrible, but from the background images I will not hold my brearh.

You still need to have steam installed.

Can t care less of achievement

Please, add more interesting games.

And that is how GOG got around Epic’s blatant moneyhatting.
Very interesting. Not once I've seen negative opinions about the need to have different places to start games. The new features will be a good solution to such problem.

Just go to your Games profile, click on your game card, has been that way since forever.. is not visible enough? Man, that's some level of paranoia

GOG.com: There are two things that matter to all of us gamers: the games we play and the friends we play them with.
I've only played one game here with other people, so the second one is debatable.

Anyway, I'm with the others, questioning how everything works exactly.

(As an aside, it would be smart to build virtual LAN into the client. That way, a decent number of games can be enjoyed together without relying on third-party programs.)

I used to dual-boot Windows until one of its updates prevented my machine from booting. BTW I didn't complain. Just got excited by the announcement and when I saw "Windows and Mac" I just realized "Oh, that's right."

Seconded! It is cool if Galaxy users get more features they like but is there any way to provide additional assurance to us non-Galaxy users that Galaxy will remain OPTIONAL? I too would like the offline installers to be more visible. Contrary to the branding, I do not consider them "backups", they are my primary installers or simply "the" installers as far as I am concerned.
Nice !
